Hey guys,
use to be into the wargaming scene when I was a teenager and left it when I entered the final years of high school. Now that I have a job (more cash ) i 've gotten back into the hobby and am enjoying painting immensely. Anyway good to be here.
Obligatory model: (been away from the painting scene for a good 8 years so don't be too harsh)

Ha! Glad your back?
No-one should be harsh: the model has paint on it, that gets you better than most, looking very representative makes you in the top few.
Very poor lighting (need to have enough to make the model squint) is not showing off your skills at their best.
Looks good, now you need a bunch of them to get your opponent all excited.
8th edition is looking to be a lot of fun and much easier for the new folk so you could not have picked a better time.
There are a ton of folk here that are very supportive and you will get advice on anything to do with the hobby solicited or not.
Have fun and again, welcome back.

Welcome back to the hobby!
It's quite the wonderful thing heh
See I'm a filthy Xeno player, but I got my girlfriend into the game and she also plays Space Wolves (She's into Power and viking metal, so it was a very easy decision to make)
See she's a lot newer to the hobby than I am (I'm in for just under a year now) you have any tips for painting space wolves she might be able to use?

Thanks, man
Ummm in regards to space wolves tips; I use the citadel range to paint, unsure about other ranges but I find it hard to find a consistent or even yellow so I undercoat the yellow with a warmish brown (Gorthor brown) before layering with Zamesi desert. Also, washes help a lot, I use Agrax earth shade on all bones, fur, skin and Nuln Oil just around the edges/crevices and bolts of the power armour. It saves a lot of time.
If you want more tips I could just outline how I painted the one above exactly e.g. step by step

Welcome,
For not painting in 8 years I'd say you're doing really well!
I have yet to start painting again after the same amount of time, your picture gives me hope that my ability to paint has not been lost...

Thanks man, I found that I have a lot more patience so I'm not rushing things as much. When I was younger tended to rush through a model, now I'm taking it slower and enjoying more.
