Disappointed that there's no models or renders to drool over, but as Steamforged have already done Dark Souls..
And have chosen to start producing the models for Guild Ball in the same, or similar, material
I think an expectation of a decent standard is reasonable.

I hope they have plans to expand out into the other games in some way, but it is an understatement to say that I am quite excited by this.
Oh! There has better be stretch goals for the Operation Racoon City teams!

Calling it directly Resident Evil 2 is... weird. it seems like you'd want to at least call it something more Racoon City generic so you can throw in Nemesis.

It's because they're remaking RE2 right now. The Remake might include elements of 3, 1.5, Outbreaks File 1 and 2, Umbrella Chronicles and Operation Raccoon City, or so the rumour mills claim. Because the setting is more undead than the enemies at this point.
Personally, if they do I hope they limit it to RE2, RE3, 1.5 and the Outbreaks. Operation Raccoon City is one of the few Resi titles that is unplayable to me (between the action gameplay, poor storyline, super tech and utterly terrible editing - there are literally cars in the game produced five years after the setting, which shows how much they gave a crapp), and Umbrella Chronicles got half of it wrong.
But again, terrifying RE fanatic.

Solid start, Steamforged.. bring on Ada Wong, Sherry Birkin and Chief Irons! I.. really can't remember any other characters being in RE2 if we discount those who appear only in cut scenes.

I want a buckaroo style mechanism to provide jeopardy and a RE style jump scare in the game
zombie dogs, lickers or whatever they need to suddenly appear leading to hear in mouth moments

Hah! O: RC on the PC also had the weirdest bug I have ever come across which they never fixed. If you launch the game in Steam but don't immediately click on a different game before O: RC starts you get terrible performance problems! Still, it was better than Gun Survivor..

Looks like it could be a cool gameplay.
But please with real terrain, with that small modular pieces it should be easy enough.
Remembers me of the first Outbreak when i was stuck forever in the hotel where that damned key was under the newspaper and my inventar was full.
Took me forever until i finally got it by accident.

Oh, the Gun Survivors were terrible (although fun to play if you had a light gun or access to the arcade machine for Gun Survivor 2) but ORC was just so...eh. The problem was we knew it would be from day, since they copy and pasted RE2 artwork for their design documents. It was a sign of things to come - if they could take a half-assed short cut, they would. Capcom at the time had this idea that if they could just make the games action enough all that Call Of Battlefield money would somehow fall into their laps. It...didn't end up working that way. Handing this out to a cheap studio and expecting miracles did not help, either.
Frankly, I'm surprised it worked at all, but...
Between that and those awful movies...seriously, Kyoto's comments are making me remember the stupid. I mean, the games were never sensible, but...zombies that tunnel through concrete? Shotguns that fire coins? The T-Virus turning the world into a desert because it ate all the plants and every being fine? Nemesis is friendship? Argh. And that's just off the top of my head. Who puts their bare thigh next to a zombies face? Alice, that's who puts their bare thigh next to a zombies face. Oh, and the creepyness from the original script...it was like reading a massive love letter to Alice. It detailed her looks with terrifying longing. And then Anderson marries the actress, so you know that red dress ended up in the bedroom for special occasions. And he kept writting nude scenes for her, even after she got married to him! You'd think that would stop him, but noooo. I mean, this is actually in it.
Paul W.S Anderson, closet deviant wrote:Blue eyes snap open. Woken from a bad dream. WIDEN to reveal a woman’s face to go with the eyes. It’s not perfection, but it’s close. We’ll call her ALICE.
10
INT. BEDROOM DAY.
ALICE sits up. Looks around. Four poster bed, oak paneled walls, painting of George Washington. Through the window she sees the ornate grounds of a manor house. There’s even a maze. This could be the 19th maybe even 18th Century.
ALICE steps out of bed. She’s twenty one. Naked. I take it back, she is perfection.
See what you've done, Kid_Kyoto? The floodgates are open now...
But anyway, it turned out people were playing Call of Modern Duty for their shooter needs, and Resident Evil for scary stuff, so ORC went down like a ton of crap coated bricks. Which didn't stop Capcom from trying to do the exact same game with a fresh lick of paint, but eh.
