Hi everyone
i just bought an Imperial Knight Warden (and i'm magnetising him so i can swap weapon)
i was talking with a friend of mine who has a wraitknight and we decided to arrange a 50 PL knight vs knight match. At the moment we did'nt know wich mission we will play, but i'm looking forward to it.
So...
a couple questions for more experienced player

a) wich IK i should bring? (ie wich weapons)
i suppose a WK is more powerful on melee than IK (even more if he use sword and shield combo) so i'm thinking about going full thermal+gatling and keeping him at distance. Is it a good match? or i could go standard thermal + melee, damage him asap with thermal and then charge with big sword/big fist while he's less than optimal?

b) what can i put as a "support"? if IK goes distance, i guess is better arrange a melee BA company, but 23 PL remaining is very tight for a fancy army so i guess Death Company and Sanguinary Guard are out. I think i can squeeze a standard assault/tactical 10-man squad, a vehicle and a characther. Or i can go full bike (i like bike ) armed with 2x melta + multi-melta + combi melta
or i should try to get some more powerful things like mephiston, a furioso/DC dread, and like?

thank you for your advices

Lascannon devastator squad(s), you can take 3 squads with a cherub and four lascannons in each for 21PL. With the cherub and signum that'll make for 15 lascannon shots at full strength, 6 of which will be hitting on 2+ these guys alone will most likely take out the wk on the first turn leaving your knight to clean up whatever support units he decides to bring. As far as the knight loadout goes, I'd suggest going for maximum ranged damage, if you go for a mellee loadout you'll be forced to move wherever he wants you to and will most likely be shot to pieces before you can get into combat, with a ranged loadout combined with lascannon spam you will be able to deploy in a position where he cannot charge you for a couple of turns (if he brings a melee loadout) and of he brings a ranged loadout you won't be forced to chase him around the table while he shoots holes through your knight.

Leicester

While tactically advisable the above doesn't make for much of a game? The scenario was established as a knight vs knight match; tailoring the remaining points as a dedicated knight killer seems like a TFG move to me?

I'd take bikes if that's what appeals

That's true, I've been building tournament lists lately and apparently am still in that mindset. Take something fluffy like your favourite hq with some sanguard or something, personally I like dante with plasma pistol sanguard, although they'll probably die pretty quickly they'll have a chance to do some work on the turn they deepstrike and with their rerolls to hit you can relatively safely supercharge them to increase their effectiveness. Mephiston is another great fluffy option, with psychic ability and s10 attacks I'd like to see him punch a wraithknight in the face!

Thanks for your advices
I was thinking about bike squad but also a techmarine (to keep it alongside the Knight and "heal" him) covered by a tactical/JP squad to keep him alive

Mephiston, i love him but i guess i can't beat eldar on psychic phase so maybe is not worht the price (also, 23 point is very narrow margin to put a very exensive model inside)

As for 'knight equipment/type: what would you advices?
my knigt is fully magnetized so i can swap weapons and equipment; 'cause is less powerful than WK in melee i was thinking about Gatling + Thermal combo (with top anti-flyer cannon 'cause eldar got a lot o flying vehicle)
However, a standard Paladin (automatic cannon + melee) or a Warden (full melee) could be good if/when he would charge straight into hand to hand
