So guys, based on the new Codex I made this list.

5 Havocs – 4x missile launchers(178 pts) – Slaanesh

TOTAL POINTS: 1998
TOTAL COMMAND POINTS: 10
19 units and 5 deepstriking units

So I’ll explain the general setup.

The Chosen squads will use the ‘Forward Operatives Stratagem’ so they can be set up anywhere on the battlefield and destroy key units from my opponent. The Chaos Lord will deepstrike together with 2 of the Chosen units for rerolls of 1 and the Sorcerer will deepstrike aswell with one Choses squad to cast Presience so they don’t kill themselves with the plasma guns. Death Hex will help against special characters that are close to them. This will cost me 3 command points and still have 7 left. They are all Alpha Legion so if I set them up correctly (more then 12 inch away from the enemy they will be at -1 to hit and still in rapid fire range for the plasma’s)

3 squads of the cultists are there for objective grabbing, nothing more nothing less, flamer helps out a bit if they get charged for auto Overwatch hits. The other 3 cultist squads will be used as screens for my Havocs and Predators in case of any deepstrike shananigans.

Top Chaos Lord and Chaos Sorcerer will be near my Havocs. Chaos Sorcerer can cast Presience on Havocs or Laspredators. Delightfull Agonies spell will be cast on the Havocs to give them a 5+ feel no pain. The Warpsmith will be with the Predators to heal them each turn.
The Havocs are Slaanesh which means I can use the Slaanesh Stratagem on them ‘Endless Cacophony’ so they can shoot twice in a turn just to a specific unit down. This will cost me 6 command points in total. And I will have 1 left.

Only downside t the army is that with that many units I will always go last. So setting them up will be most important.

The army has a lot of shooting: standard I have 16 lascannon shots a turn, 4D6 missile launcher shots against horde, and in rapid fire range I have 30 overcharged plasma gun shots. If I use the Slaanesh stratagem on the Havocs I have a total of 24 lascannon shots and 8D6 missile launcher shots. Let me know what U think guys!

Any takers? Not sure if people allready played a lot of games with the new sex. Just wondering if people have input or other ideas. Thanks in advance!

I really like it and I am running something very similar looking to run the same strategems and push the warlord trait to the max as well.

I do wonder how you deal with extreme horde lists like 90+ irks or 100+ conscripts. It's something I'm still trying to figure it out myself. How are the predators performing so far? Have you played the list?

Thanks for the reply!

I haven't played the list yet but will this weekend probably.
The 90+ orks or 100+ conscripts aren't a problem in my local meta, hence why I wrote Semi-Competitive. We have a general rule of 'Don't be that guy'.
However, I was thinking of switching out more lascannons for missile launchers do deal with more horde.
The Predators are great in my experience, just make sure they are not in the open so everything can target them and try to take out the units that are likely to kill your predator.

Well first off without even double-checking any of your other points I can tell you that this number is WAY off. Fully plasma kitted Chosen should be running you 147 points, not 95.

Also you claim you are going to put them outside of 12" of targets but still in rapid fire range. That is not possible. Unless you are talking about after your first turn movement, then fine, however...

You admit you will almost never get first turn, and your opponents will get to move (at least once, maybe more with Warptime to get within 12"), shoot, and charge at you before you get to do a thing. I certainly think the Alpha Legion strat is a powerful one, but I am of the mind that it gives its biggest benefit when putting blobs of dangerous melee units (berzerkers, for example) close to enemy targets you want to either pulp or simply tie up so they can't shoot. For essentially the same price as your 5 man plasma squad, 10 berzerkers make enemy units not want to move much closer to them or engage them (they fight twice remember), and when your turn rolls around they can simply shrug off their losses (which they will undoubtedly suffer some, ofc) and do what they came to do, charge the enemy. Either way they are doing the job of screening for your firing line of Lascannons and whatnot while being able to soak up a little more damage due to almost certainly not going first.

Just something to think about if you don't happen to get first turn or magically roll a 6. Otherwise I think your backline is very tight, brings a lot of firepower with high AP and dmg potential. Allows you to focus down a threat or two per turn. The cultists are as good as you get in CSM for cheap troops to fill out battalions, but I feel like being AL you would want to shift a few points to at least have one super blobby (30 or so) cultist unit to use the Tide of Traitors strat on in a pinch. But that's just fluffy fun that also happens to work out strategically sometimes.

Currently focusing on Traitor Guard
