Hello there,

I would like to ask the hivemind if they know of any GW models that have fluff that makes sure they are from holy terra?
I am aware of thunder warriors and custodes. But i was wondering if there was maybe some of the other old models that had fluff making their birth planet terra?
For instance is obiwan Sherlock closseau from terra?
Does Leman Russ count since he was technically vat-born (started?) there?
Did some of the old white dwarfs or other sources maybe name other characters from earth that did get models?

Ahriman and Kharn are, altough Terra wasn't holy yet when they last set foot on it.
Guilliman was created on Terra as well, altough he did not grow up there.

Nice, somehow i ha dmindblocked myself into forgetting about Guilliman.
Do you remember what fluff puts ahriman and kharn into the earthborn category?

The story of Ahriman's origins is told in the novel A Thousand Sons iirc.
For Kharn, I do not know.

All of the Primarchs would have been created on Terra. Kharn and Ahriman are also from Terra, being some of the few Terran-born space marines still in existence in the 41st millenium. Kharn, specifically, is apparently from Siberia.

I don't know the fluff behind Ahriman, but Kharn was originally part of the Warhounds, which was the original name of the World Eaters Legion before they found Angron. Kharn was in fact the man who talked down Angron and made the latter accept the World Eaters as his own.

It's rumored that some of the Fallen are in fact Terran-born marines, who rebelled against Lion El Jonsen because they feared the Lion was "hedging his bets" and wanted to see who would be the victor of the heresy before committing. If this is true, then some (or possibly all) of the fallen that still walks the mortal plane are in fact the original Terran born marines that first took to the stars with the Emperor. However the source of this information turned out to be from a Fallen infiltrator, so it's source is dubious at best.

Imperial Fists Marines are still known to recruit from Terra from time to time, so some Imperial Fist marines would be assumed to be of Terran origin (although I don't think any named Imperial Fists are terran).

Custodes are said to have never leave Terra. Given that their creation is in utter secrecy, it's likely that they are taken from Terran stocks and created on the planet. If true, it's likely that some custodes have never even left the planet.

That's changed now, with fluff from their Talons of the Emperor release saying that after the Heresy they would occasionally go out to do something here or there, but never in large numbers. So while the bulk likely have never left Terra or at least Sol, some have. And while in the past the mostly never left, in the current time of the setting many more are leaving Terra to battle.

As for active characters in the 40K fluff, Astelan was Terran born. He doesn't have a model though.

Yes, that's why I said "some" not "all". While the majority of Custodes stay on terra, it's likely a good number of them are not terran born. And of the terran born ones, it's more than likely that some have to leave the planet for other duties. Talons of the Emperor didn't change much; Custodes would sometimes leave Terra if something special required their attention even in older fluff. The key though was that prior to Guilliman's awakening, only a handful would leave Terra, and certainly never in enough numbers to be strong enough to fight a normal conflict in 40k since their tasks were usually diplomatic, investigative, or called upon to mediate something.

All members of the Legions that existed prior to the discover of their primarchs were Terran born, as the legion recruiting was all done on Terra before they moved their bases to their Primarch's respective homeworlds.

Obiwan Sherlock Cluseau was from Ultramar, and was a Half-Eldar hybrid resulting from a dark eldar raiding party. However, at the time his fluff was written the Ultramarines were not an original Legion and ultramar was a Mad Max style post apocalyptic wasteland where the Ultramarines scavenged their equipment and recruits from, because the chapter was a poorly equipped and supplied chapter. So its safe to say this is all invalid fluff at that point.

I think one of the Heresy books had Corax visit it, and he was on Terra the whole time.

Lysander was recruited on Terra so he kinda counts. (given he was a pilgrim child chances are his family had been moving to reach terra for a few generations.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Yes, it is on Terra, under the Imperial Palace in fact. Malcador shows Hassan the doors to the facility whilst giving him a tour in "The Sigilite".
