So we now have the Primaris Marines from the Loyalists. And I'm willing to be Fabius Bile will be cooking up something in the not too distant future.

But what about the Alpha Legion? They stole the Primarch project genetic data from the Raven Guard way back around M30. We know from Deliverance Lost that that data could already produce marines quicker, and that those marines were stronger and faster than traditional marines. So why haven't we seen the Alpha Legion using enhanced warriors? Is it because they as a legion were mostly split up and so haven't had the unified means to work on the data? Are they still trying for the Alpharius Gambit and waiting? Is Gav Thorpe just crazy?

Anyone have any idea?

Dunno... It's a way to explain Chosen in Alpha Legion warbands, which aren't traditionally working in particularly warp affected areas, nor are particularly beholden to any particular god so are unlikely to receive power through patronage of the gods?

Poorly thought out plot hole.

GW hates Chaos and doesn't want them to have nice things (I'm talking CSM, not Thousand Sons or Death Guard, which are there own armies now).

Alpha Legion being so split up that they possibly lost or destroyed the information.

nareik's idea that it explains Chosen (see above post).

Fabulous Bile just hasn't gotten his greedy little hands on it yet in the story.

CSM doesnt need primaris esque marines.

I think cuz gw hadn't settled on how to handle the numarines release until late in product development. A consequence of two many hands on the till syndrome. They could have released them as marines just bigger and upped all muhweens to two wounds in nuhammer or as magic heresy girlymarines. They slowly went with girlymarines as marketing ideas trumped common sense, as marketing staff worked with legal to strengthen their claim to ip by basically producing New Coke. Given who pushes the buttons of a big company we should not be surprised that the whole universe is basically left incoherent. Profits come first. That said, who knows. Maybe geedubs will surprise us with slaaneshi noobiemarines, tzeentch 1001sons marines, khorne nuzerkers... Nurgle nudisease marines, for Christmas...

The Alpha Legion gave the genetic data to Fabius Bile.

He used it. He made some Enhanced marines, which Almost killed Corax.

Later, he used it to clone primarchs.

He was on the verge of making an army of cloned primarchs when Abaddon destroyed his lab and forbade him from trying it again.

Since then he's been busy on tweaking marines and making superior humans.

New Fluff, he's looking at making Primaris Chaos Marines.

this. people are forgetting that Bile had his laboratory destroyed. I imagine he's spent the next ten thousand years trying to peice it back to gether under less then ideal conditions (imagine trying to do genetic science in the warp? jesus..)

Because the GW release cycle has not permitted those minis from coming out yet and they still have old CSM minis to sell.

so the very foundation he's been building on is also flawed? that'd explain an aweful lot.

Corax apparently had a phenomenal knowledge of genetic engineering. Alpha Legion probably didn't have the know how to do anything with it.
