So yeah, basically I decided I liked the paint scheme of the Pallid hand that that loveable Duncan showed once so I decided to go with that.
Which was a LOT of fun, because a lot of it was guess work to all hell because there isn't any real frame of reference pictures I could find online for things I needed to paint like cloth and what not, so I tried a few different methods. I'm still somewhere between beginner and intermediate in terms of paint skill. (Have unsteady as hell hands, so free handing is a bit off the table for the time being)

But yeah, what I was going for was a kind of messy recess wash look for most of the troops (Yes it was kind of intentional) to make them look all weathered, I used Scrag Brown on the small indents on the more pricey dudes to put a little more pop into them for the time being, making small rust dribbles down.
What do you guys think? For filling in the gaps and what not, I think I did a decent job (Though if someone could tell me how to do those awesome looking brassy brown power cable things in a Death Guard Plasma gun that would be cool. I just went with a Retributor armour, and then two layers of Agrax Earth Shade)

And of course the Dreadnaught (Hell Brute)
I decided to go with the brass/bronze trim due to the fact that the Pallid Hand Specialize in Vehicle and heavily armoured assaults, so it would reason that their vehicles would be a bit shinier.

Any suggestions or modifications you think I should do that would be great! I'm always willing to improve!
Also I am toying around with going over them again and neatening them up soo yeah.

Make youself a cheap lightbox, it will be much easier to see the models properly. You dont want to use flash either.

As for the models, yhey are pretty nice! Look a little like chaos deathwing, i am sure DA players will appreciate the comparison. I intend to paint mine in a similar way, but use a very very watered down death guard green in my recesses to really emphasize an unhealthy pallor

How does one make a light box?
And also I kind of needed the flash because it's currently 4AM for me, and was I think 2 when I took the photos of those? So the lighting was a bit garbage.

Yeah, I kind of noticed that half way, because I paint some Dark Angels for a friend of mine, and I'm going to be painting his Terminators soon (getting paid for it of course) only difference is with them it's Agrax Earthshade and not Seraphim sepia in the Recesses, and more neatly done.
Also not evil

A good photo helps to showcase your models, and helps people give you advice or compliments!

Colour scheme looks great!

Looking at your drone - the wash in the edge of the shell/armour hides the edge of the iconage (fly) imho there needs to be more difference in colour there?

"brassy brown power cable things in a Death Guard Plasma gun" what are you referring to here?

Drill out barrels of guns!

With the white drybrushing on flesh, try some scales in between ie lighten base colour in grades as you drybrush to get a better blend.

Think about a different colour for horns to make them pop?

The slime on drone's horns needs to be 'slimed'

Look for a tutorial on the lenses - a good lens on the drone looks awesome and brings it to a new level.

Cheers - have fun!
