So I am still on the fence about WarmaHordes. The faction that has really caught my attention is Circle with all their celtic stone golems. However my question is about the compesition of Circle armies. Is it possible to have an army made soley up of these things or do I have to include the wild beast looking characters.

TOO MUCH CHAOS!!!

Absolutely-obviously, you'll still need a warcaster, and probably some support, but all the casters can take nothing but Constructs.
This guy:

is actually allowed to take nothing else.

My $0.02, which since 1992 has rounded to nothing. Take with salt.

Well, with the understanding that you need a warlock first and foremost, who won't be a Celtic stone golem, the answer is yes.

The composition of the armed forces of the circle is quite varied. You have the various Druid elements, who make up the leadership 'caste', a lot of the solos and unit leader types. The warbeasts they can bring to the title include living warbeasts like warp wolves, griffons, satyrs and the stone golems. Circle warlocks in the fluff are often drawn to either living or stone warbeasts, but when it comes to the game you can take what you want, with the exception of beadigus who can only take the stone golems. Heck, the circle gargantuan is a giant stone golem.

Beyond that, it's not just stone warbeasts. The 'boots on the ground' that they can bring comprise the 'wolves of orboros', who are various humans who serve the druids, often as heavy infantry. You have the Tharn who are feral, cannibal beastmen who serve as shock infantry, skirmishers and terror troops. You also have the Druid constructs, which are too small to be warbeasts- things like wold stalkers whichare small stone shrimp shaped things that serve as ranged support, and sentry stones and things like that.

There is no reason you can't build an army around a warlock(probably the best wold-leaning warlocks are bradigus and baldur), leading a war pack of stone golems and with support from other druids and stone constructs, and aside from the warlock and maybe some Druid solos and unit leaders, have nothing but stone constructs in your army.

Hope that helps.

Astonished of Heck

Baldur also runs the golems really well (the only one who did before Bradigus).

Don't forget the shrimp unit is available as part of the "boots on the ground". I don't know how good they are, though.

Are you a Wolf, a Sheep, or a Hound?

Besides your Warlock (the army commander) you can pretty much build an army of grumpy rock golems

You might have a couple of issues with Fury management, as nearly every action a Warbeast/Construct takes generates Fury, which in turn feedsback into your Warlock the following turn to power their spells, which cost Fury rather than generate.

However Warlocks have a limit on how much Fury they can hold, if you can't transfer all the Fury there is a chance of loosing control of the model, in the Constructs case they generally just shut down.

Also in missions only some types of models can hold/control some objectives or areas so some troops are needed (for Circle the best picks are Reeves (crossbow dudes), Wolves (Pikemen) and Bloodtrackers (skirmishy javelin/stabby sorts)

Actually the Wolds just don't frenzy. Which is both good and bad. If they're full they can't do anything that requires Fury, but they still get their initial attacks. And Circle has a lot of options to remove fury other than the warlock.

Shifting stones and the Stoneshapers are good support.

Having the Wold go where you want and punch what you want is a big plus in my book.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I think that is the beauty of Circle options, warpwolves go off the deep end easily, golems never do, take both and tag team to get the amount of crazy you want when you want it. It helps that one is offense focused the other defence, use Circles superior mobility to take advantage and time fights for your benefit.

Its a powerful toolbox, but relatively hard to pull off in practice. All in all you are better off with Cryx for this type of game.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
