Ok, I got some 19mm and love the way they roll. I'm looking for similar 12mm dice that are squared and not biased. Does anyone make them for 12mm? Thank you.

Are you talking about precision edged like casino dice, or just dice that haven't been rounded off much?

For the first, can't help you. For the second, Koplow makes some good ones, but they can be a bit hard to find. I had to get mine from an eBay store awhile back.

Koplow is my go-to for squared off dice. They sell 12mm dice in that style, versus the more common rounded edges. For some reason I've always had a hard time finding Koplow's squared dice at FLGSs.

Squared dice are no more random than other dice unless you roll them as they are meant to be rolled, hard and bouncing off a bumper. For precision dice that don't destroy scenery and models, try precision backgammon dice. They roll nicely and are perfectly fair.

So are my terrain and models and I'd rather them not get dinged up by casino dice.

Get yourself a decent dice rolling tray or box if it's necessary.

Just letting the OP know that they won't be cheap.

Understood Ghaz. I always find it funny the superstitions gamers attach to dice even when it flies in the face of established probability. The truth is that nearly any dice you care to buy are going to be statistically average enough for the games we play especially in the numbers we roll them for GW games. The search for precision in a game as loose as 40k or AOS is a bit silly in my opinion.

I have to agree with Todosi on this one...the best way to ensure general average is to keep and roll at least 20-30 dice for a game like 40K. Don't use the same 2-3 dice for important rolls, etc.

Most mass-produced dice are inherently off balance from the production methods. While this matters if you're say, role-playing, and using a handful of dice --- you can pave this out generally by using a larger pool of dice over the course of a game. Even with perfect dice your games will be swingy. A die's probability is expressed in the likelihood of rolling a certain result over the course of its existence. Sometimes you're going to have a crap game.

Do I think there is room in the market for mass-produced quality dice with a new production method? Absolutely, but for a game like 40K which is so obnoxiously dice heavy --- I wouldn't put too much stress into it.
