So I'm wondering, the unit entry says, "An artillery carriage equipped with a Medusa Siege Gun may be upgrades to use: Breacher Shells"

Does this completely replace the regular Medusa firing profile or is the wording similar to legion Rapiers and the Medusas basically get two types of shells to shoot?

I would say yes, you can use both. I don't think I've seen any Medusa or similar artillery piece that completely replaces the shells.

Alpharius? Never heard of him.

Cool that's what I was thinking/hoping as well

Also if anyone wants to weigh in on an unrelated question, what do you guys prefer for leman russ battle tanks in 30k, standard battle cannon, or Demolisher cannon?

Seeing that the wording is "may be upgraded to use", I'd say that it can use both shells.

And for the leman russ question, I prefer battle cannons because of it's range, but it lacks the strength and AP to murder some of the harder units like custodes and terminators properly. Demolisher just lacks the range for my liking and if it fails to kill the enemy within range it will end up as scrap.
Though other leman russ variant that I like is vanquisher because it's always nice to have one about in case you run into mechanized army.

Hmmm and the range of the battle cannons will be nice since I already have medusas which are immobile, so the 72" range will be a nice addition, would mean any heavy weapon squads and such won't be able to hide outside of 36"

If you are playing Militia, have you thought about using heavy support squad with missile launchers or lascannons and add in the Militia's second WL trait? Having AP2 krak missiles or AP1 lascannons can be a real mean surprise for your opponents.

I have considered that but for different reasons I haven't gotten around to purchasing them or trying to fit them in lists. The company I am buying my milita models from is Victoria Miniatures and whilst they do have an expansive range, even in heavy weapon teams they don't have a missile launcher crew served weapon yet. Lascannons yes.

Also in game terms those teams are very vulnerable especially in 30k I find, especially if you consider them a single model with two wounds which is how people have been playing them since 5th think?

If I get infantry heavy weapons squads I was thinking of sticking more to my Siege assault theme and taking something with barrage like mortar teams or thudd guns. Barrage will hell keep them out of LOS of pesky volkite weapons and anything S6 or above

T3 is a problem for sure, but personally, I have gotten past the problem mostly when I am playing my own squat militia thanks to the abhuman helots provenance. And I think the point of playing militia is to play themed army because of all the customization that allow you to make the army that you want for the 30k setting so hat's off for you.

Squat milita is awesome! Wish you were in the USA so we could get a game in. I'm running with some on the only non-Marine non-Mechanicum models in my area. But I'll be attending the LVO so I guess I'll see what's going on there.

I definitely agree concerning customization and the Militia list. My only wish is that they had included some sort of cavalry option, and some sort of cheap transport option. Would have been even cooler if it had been a "build your own transport" slot similar to the option Mechanicum players can gain access too. I would dearly love being able to send my rifle squads around in cheap, open topped trucks lol
