Subject: How to beat Ironjawz ? (Chaos player).

Hi people ! I play chaos (mostly Nurgle) and I need to understand how I am supposed to beat Ironjawz players. With their crazy rules allowing them to be right in my face at the beginning of the game, their 4+ saves, their numerous wounds (I play mostly against Brutes) and their crazy weapons, they just seem like an Orkish version of Movie marines. How do I beat that ?

Are you playing under GH2017? Cause rampaging destroyers was changed and it no longer gives a d6" move when near a character + combining with ironfist for 2d6" hero phase moves. Can still get some free moves from Rampaging Destroyers, but its 1 in 6 chance per hero (1 in 3 chance for general) so likely only one unit is getting extra far a turn (give or take).

Screen your army with with melee and use ranged to whittle them down. Nurgle can hold ground pretty well, though I'm not sure what ranged options you have to throw into the mix. Tzeentch can take them with Flamers. They can be summoned. and Fly. they are fast and can be anywhere on the board
The D3 wounds on the flamers makes up for lack of rend. Fate dice help here too.
If he likes throwing in large units, the gaunt summoner with familiars + balewind vortex is a killer combination to litteraly halve a horde unit each time his spell goes off. and he can not be charged
Lord of change is also a ranged canon and its spell will mortal wound high stats to oblivion.

Just be careful, the weirdboss can rank up a pretty good unbinding bonus and make it hard to cast what you need to cast.

When it comes to us Ironjawz, kill off the support. We lose badly to morale so the warboss is a big target. Also the warchanter is pretty amazing at buffing our units, so he is a pretty high priority target himself.
You will not be able to out speed the Ironjawz, so don't even try. Keep your number of units fighting even in your opponent's turn, and odd in yours to maximize your combat activations. Also, leverage any ranged combat you have. We don't have any outside of our Weirdnob.

I had great luck using a big Bullgor Stampede plus 2 Cygors and 2 Doombulls one time. Even the big Ork Dragon could't withstand the great weapons plus Doombull's Call of the Slaughter!

The Mawkrusha is not exactly durable. Just make sure you pick the fight with it if possible.

Mostly it's about having good screening units. Iron jaws are a point and click one trick poney. If you know he is going to race right at you and try to smash, try and use it to your advantage.
Don't let anything you care about get in combat with the cabbage dragon.
Marauders should probably be your mvp. Let them get eaten by the first wave and then wham-o hit them back hard when holes in your screen units open up.
