Just curious, how many of you use your Age of Sigmar figures for other purposes, like for DnD or Pathfinder games? Got any stories to share? Conversions to show off? Squads that you've build to represent your characters?

I was going to use the Stormcast Eternals as Caliban knights for Dark Angels in 40K last year but never started the project.

I was also going to use the dragon thingy from the Fyre Slayers as one of the Caliban creatures.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Something I've been working on for several hours, but it counts I think.

A verminlord model that I'm reworking to fit a 40k themed Skaven force. I would have posted it in the project thread if I was actually using it for AoS

Sisters and Wolves 4000
~4000 points of Skaven
~2000 Kaptain Gitklaw's Grots
~2400 Kharadron Overlords
4x Imperial Knights

Kairic acolytes are wonderfully universal. They are super unique, yet can fit in almost any fantasy setting and probably a fair few sci fi ones as well.

That's my opinion at least

Aos/WHFB slips right into Kings of War also. If you haven't read the rules, please do - I think they're excellent.

I skipped the middle man and jumped straight into using my Warhammer Fantasy Battle miniatures for Ninth Age, mostly skipping the Age of Sigmar rules completely after a few games put me off. Came back every once in a while but it wasn't much better, although I hold hope that the new generals handbook removes some of the immersion breaking and hero sniping things so I can give it a go again.

But yeah, all legacy pre-end times AoS models have a place in a Ninth Age army.

I don't know if this count as 95% of the model is greenstuff (unless you count the fact that greenstuff is a GW product), but I made this guy for an RP. You might recognize the feather in his cap and the bag on his waist as coming from GW as well as his hand being that of a bloodletters.

To those that say there is no stupid questions I say, "Is this a stupid question?"

Oh, I definitely know that cap feather, main reason to get the Freeguild archer set. (those feathers look better on my knights)

Excellent model, though!

Also, to the OP, sorry to say I never have played rpgs like DnD(really wish I could say otherwise) but I know at least one guy on this site who uses his Stormcast as a paladin so I'm hoping he pops in to comment.

But yeah, most legacy pre-end times AoS models that excludes characters and a good chunk of unique units have a place in a Ninth Age army.

FTFY.

Does it count if I use Warhammer and Age of Sigmar minis to play games of One Page Fantasy rather than Age of Sigmar? I have no hobby club to play with, so I usually like games that are easy to teach to others who aren't necessarily gamers (like my wife or father, or in 3-5 years my son). It's too expensive to have the rules necessary to have 4-6 AoS warbands in a collection (because noone else I play against would have miniatures).

I also thought about using one of my Stormcast Liberators for a PC in a Rifts campaign. (A medieval-themed Cyber Knight, for those in the know -a Liberator would be such an insane size difference with other 25mm figures).

I've used stormcast guys in Frostgrave for things like statues and large constructs, they work very well for that!

I use a number of Death and Syvaneth minis as conversions for my Eldar army. I've also used a HE Phoenix as part of a Heldrake conversion, also used the head from the same kit on my Renegade Knight conversion. I've also got a laundry list of other AoS mini's slated for conversions into various 40K armies.

Mind me asking what you think is missing? I mean of course special characters with unique models are missing, but the vast majority of special characters can just be used as their generic counterparts or as something comparable (Throgg as a Once Chosen Chaos Lord, Orion as a Thicket Shepherd to Forest Prince on Great Elk, Settra as a Tomb King on a specific magic item chariot). So they still have a place in a Ninth age army. As for unique units, what's missing? I can't think of any iconic units that are missing from a Ninth Age army, can you give me an example?

It's been over a year since I stopped caring about 9th age so I can't recall all the stuff in detail but it was quite a bit of units.

Really I was just pointing out "can use all your models" is incorrect. Just like how some say "it's a balanced 8th edition!" are very wrong after 1.3 and just said it to try and tempt in more players.

I regularly use AoS figures for D&D. Have a Liberator I use as a Warforged Juggernaut. The scale difference between it and standard D&D minis works perfectly. We also once used a couple Imperial Knights for Warforged Titans.

I'd like to find a use for gryph hounds in frostgrave, but they just seem a bit too big for warhounds. Except for the one that came with silver tower which is adorable and the perfect size. i still wish more of them were that scale!

Just picked up a Battlemage and Celestial Hurricanum with no intention of ever using them in an AoS match (I mostly play Chaos, though I could potentially use the Hurricanum in my Sylvaneth list for a tournament or something). I'll be using them to represent a planar scholar Conjuration wizard in an upcoming D&D campaign. The Hurricanum is going to be his mobile laboratory.
