Hello, everyone. As a fan of Warhammer 40K, I felt like coming here proper would be good, since my main source of WH40K discussion prior to this place is one Warhammer thread on Facepunch, and the Space Marine (no, not just from that game, but a lot more!) model thread as well. People working on the 3d models and art there are literal beasts.
I've been indulging into this grimdark setting for a good while now, not a newbie nor a veteran. Just kind of teetering somewhere inbetween, I suppose.
I don't do tabletop myself or regularly visit any gaming stores, but I think it's an awesome hobby nonetheless. I've watched a few videos of some tabletop matches, if that's anything. And looking at all the effort people put in their miniatures just leaves me awestruck. You go, guys!
Videogames about WH40K I've played a few, but none really stuck to me (mostly due to me being less than stellar at them.) I somehow completed storymodes for DoW1, Winter Assault (Imperial Guards) and Dark Crusade (Blood Ravens), but I've come to some form of conclusion that I don't have multitasking skills combined with quick wits for RTS games, even on Necrons... not even kidding. Completed Space Marine storymode, but the lobbyshooter multiplayer didn't really suit me, probably due to the next one...
Eternal Crusade. Eugh, what a mess that game ended up as. It's bearable when I feel like playing it (usually regretting after every session), but I usually just shelve it till an interesting update comes along. Started to pick up some app games for the fun of it, mostly Freeblade and Drop Assault.
For preferred factions in the WH40K universe, I can say I honestly like pretty much everything; I can see appeal in the vast majority of stuff presented. But two have a very special place in my heart, those being Dark Angels and Farsight Enclaves.
With all that said, I hope I'll have a fun stay here. Cheers!
