The Darklands models from Mierce Miniatures are some of the best I've ever seen, and the game looks really interesting, but is there anyone out there who actually plays it? The models are expensive (and for the quality probably worth it), but I was thinking of slowly building up a small force just to paint, and maybe to keep on hand should I ever find another elusive player. How does the game play? Is there anything it's comparable to, to give me an idea?

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

There is a small following, but it is very thin on the ground.

Mierce's attempt at a mass market dungeon crawler boardgame set in the Darkland's IP fell flat.

Their sculpts are excellent, but they are stick in the muds regarding IP, are very 'arty' and have limited appeal.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

A lot of this is due to Mierce's lack of ability to do anything outside running kickstarter, which has become its own insular and weird market that companies can get trapped in. They seem to do well there, but you can't grow a company, or community using kickstarter.

if it's not in stores, any stores at all, you don't get any traction beyond the people who stumble into the kickstarter, which means no play outside smaller isolated groups.

Myself and a group of friends play it, the rules a quite dense, but we enjoy it

There's 3 players in the Rugeley Area of Staffordshire that play, myself included, and a bunch who play in Coventry.

The game itself is quite complex and daunting at first when you start, but you soon get the hang of it, and once you do you are constantly coming up with ideas as to how to play tactically and strategically, and how to get the best out of the combination of units that you have in your kindreds to field..

Personally I love it, and I'm new to Table Top Wargaming, so If I can pick it up anybody can..

Hi

How the darklands rules set compare with , for example , with the rules of infinity ( the most dense rules set i know) , in fact of rules density / complexity?
