The Sicaran Battle Tank has long been a staple in HH armies. At the moment the Sicaran family has expanded and brougt forth new and awsome sons. But not all are equal. The firstborn Battle tank is still a revered piece in any army, while his Venetar brother enjoist his specialist niche. The Punisher seems to have rather limited use, the Omega Tank Destroyer would be a nice pal if it was not for the most powerful one - the Arcus. Right now we haven't seen him over here in our local meta, but I allready hear a lot of voices saying that it's overpowered and while most would like to play WITH one, they wouldn't like playing AGAINST it. They say he obliterates Custodes, anihilates marines and devastates auxilia and machanicum. His name is Death and Hell follows him...But is he realy as frightening as he seems?

Sadly I have not had the chance to play one but to me it doesn't seem overpowered. As it puts out similar fire power to a full squad of quad mother's when not moving for more points without the benefits of not needing line of sight or having wrecker for the strength 8 missiles as well as being a vehicle and susceptible to explodes results and crew shaken. So personally I feel it is good and it might be a bit cheap for what it does but it is no where near as bad as people are claiming

Ya know, I think I'd rather have two Legion Whirlwind Scorpious for the same price as that Sicarian Arcus.
The Arcus has the problem of trying to be too many things at once, and you'll pay the points for it. Other tanks and dedicated artillery fill this niche just as well or better. It's one more tool in an already crowded fire support/artillery support section of the force org chart. If these had been available a couple years ago when I was looking at a Scorpious, Whirlwind, Basilisk, or Medusa, I probably would have bought one. Now? I already have all the artillery I need.
As a Relic Tank in 8th ed 40K, it's garbage. There is no scenario, no army list, no way I would spend a relic slot on an Arcus.

Exactly it really only shines in lists with limited heavy support or tanks were its flexibility allows it to make up for the point cost. Otherwise it doesn't pull its weight as a fully kitted out arcus will set you back around 300 points

As a Mechanicum player facing one is a mixed bag. On one hand it can easily kill my automata and tanks, but on the other hand I have absolutely no issues dealing with enemy tanks of any variety.
Sure, it will most likely kill something if my opponent gets first turn, but if I get first turn or if any of my very many anti tank options are alive for my turn 1, it's toast.
I faced one in my last game vs iron Warriors, and it did kill one of my Vultarax easily, but then my Krios tanks blasted it off the table. So I'm not too worried.

Recently used 2 Arcuses (Arcii?) in my 2500p Armoured breakthrough list and was rather unimpressed. The pair of plasma executioners and javelins did more work, while being more mobile. I feel like this could be an inherent problem with the sicaran chassis and the AB RoW. Their advantages are diminished when all the other tanks get the fast rule.
I found the Arcus too static when the rest of the tanks are 48"+ guns, or can move and shoot without a significant penalty.
Overall it is decent, but not an autotake for a legion list like a drop levi, or a pair of vultarax for mech.

The arcus seems to suffer from the fact that it's a jack of all trades. fully tooled up i can threaten a lot of diffrent units, but it suffers from target saturation and can't do everything every turn.
The omega sicaran seems to be overcosted (compared to the venator), but otherwise a pretty neat tank, and I'll probably get one.

Great looking kit, on my to buy list.
That said, every time I have come up against one with my Luna Wolves or Thousand Sons it ended up being a minor nuisance at best before dying in a hail of missile fire, or being cut in half by a IK Chainsword.

Recasts are like Fight Cub. No one talks about it, but more people do it then you realize.
