So i have been looking at maybe getting into armada for a while now. A buddy and I were wondering if it is still well supported and whats the best way to get in?

Depends on your area. Locally for me there 6 players. But go down the road about an hour and there's a huge community.

What to get?
Also depends on what faction you want to go with.

Recommend the starter set and another set of dice and at least 1 extra movement thing.

IMPS; the light carrier, the Arqutents, an ISD, gozantis and the two fighter packs will probably get you started.

Depends on your definition of "well supported".

FFG still very much produces the models/rules and puts out new stuff. Empire just got a new Star Destroyer and Thrawn added.

Armada doesn't receive nearly as much attention as Xwing though. But that's ok.

As for what to get,

Split the starter(or two since you'll both want most of the cards) with your friend. Whoever goes Imperial should get both Fighter expansions and an ISD. Rebel player should get the Home One expansion and both Rebel Fighter packs. Then add ships as they take your fancy.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Also, get the Corellian Conflict Campaign. There are additional objective cards that can be used in standard games, as well as additional debris pieces that can also be used in games.

Strategic squadrons are great, and if you go Imp, I really like the Decimators.

Wow guys thanks. I live near Portland Oregon, I hope there might still be a community out here but i guess we could just play each other as well.
