Okay, I used their name in the thread title and reset the clock. Sorry squat fans!

In the 6th / 7th ed 'big rule book' packs, there were 'Dark Millennium' fluff sections. One thing these fluff sections illuminated was the place of abhumans in the Imperium, including the continued existence of squats.

GW has now moved pas the Dark Millenium setting to a new 'Dark Imperium theme.

I have not seen anything on the most important topic in 40k. What has become of Squats? Are they still non-extinct, sanctioned Abhumans, as per 6th/7th edition?

Also, on a similar note, are beastmen during 6tth/7th were being fast tracked to losing their abhuman status (being recategorised into aberrant mutants!). Has anything been mentioned on the place of beastmen (and the other mentioned abhumans) in Dark Millenium society?

Have more beastmen sprung up with the great rift?

On page 279 of the main rule book under the section Abhumans it has a few paragraphs explaining what's going on with those two and the others. Teal deer; nothing on Squats other than they are there, for Beastmen they are restricted to were they can go and can't be conscripted. This is a sign of them being reclassified as mutants. The others are still the same.

So no new info on abhumans in the new edition? Just a copy and paste of the old stuff?

Pretty disappointing :(
