Hey everyone!!
I've recently got into the game with a few friends and one has gone Tzeentch and his Pink Horrors taken out a Deff Dread rolling over a 10 on his test and hitting me with 6 wounds. After reading up a bit I've read in multiple places people claim Horrors can only use 1 D6 for the test. Can anyone confirm this and point me in the direction of where I can read up on this.
Thanks

Units of 10 or more pink horrors can inflict d3 wounds. Units smaller than that or different colours can only inflict 1 Automatically Appended Next Post: And they only use 1 dice for the test

It's on the warscroll for the Horrors:
Magic Made Manifest: A unit of Horrors can attempt
to manifest one psychic power in each friendly Psychic
phase, and attempt to deny one psychic power in each
enemy Psychic phase. However, when you do so, only
roll a single D6 for the Psychic test or Deny the Witch
test, and use the result to determine the outcome. Note
that this means the Horrors can’t roll a double 1 or
6 to suffer Perils of the Warp. In addition, if the unit
manifests the Smite psychic power whilst it contains
less than 10 Pink Horror models, it only inflicts 1
mortal wound rather than D3.

Thanks for this mate, He's read his index and said his doesn't say this, are we missing anything in term of a updated index or codex for example?

It's in the FAQ - https://whc-cdn.games-workshop.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/40K_8th_ed_Update_Index_Chaos_ver_1.2.pdf

I can tell you having just this morning having put together some horrors for my Thousand Sons, the print index at least the one I have has that rule, minus the part about only getting D3 if you have 10 pinks in the unit (that was the part added by FAQ)
|
"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"
"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"
"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"
"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!" |
