I am doing a bit of minor kit bashing in order to give my Mordor Uruks shields.

I was planning to use all Gundabad black shields bits for the shields because they look pretty bad ass but I'm now wondering whether it may be a better idea to only use a couple of them and then mix things up with the shields found in the Warg Riders kit.

What do you guys n gals think, should I keep their gear in unison considering Uruks tend to have mass produced gear or should I make it a bit more haphazard?

Thing is Mordor Uruks aren't nearly as regimented as their White Hand cousins, so you could be a lot more haphazard with their gear. As is, I actually like that look a lot. The only thing I would suggest is flip it over so the flat part of the shield is facing down. But I hope you're planning to press mold the shields otherwise that will cost a small fortune in Blackshields kits.

I used Warg Rider shields and found them pretty fitting. I don't think the models and Mordor on the whole are really about uniformity. Even the Morannons with their uniform armour still have quite a lot of different weapons, helmets and shields.

That being said I really like your idea and those shields fit actually well into the Mordor/Morgul aesthetic.

Use the warg shields made of metal, not the wooden ones. Best gear for the best fighters.
