In one of the last games a rules question came up.
Can I allocate multiple hits to the same model in a unit over and over again just because the particular model has the best save?
Example: A unit of 5 Save Wolves got 4x hit by a Starcannon. No model has lost a wound so far. One Space Wolf is equipped with a Storm Shield. The player commanding the target unit allocates one hit at a time to the Wolf Guard with the Stormshield. All 4 saves are made.

Is this OK?

4. Resolve Attacks - 3. Allocate Wound seems to support this „the player commanding the target unit allocates the wound to any model in the unit”. Units like Dire Avengers however seem to contradict this. Why take a shimmershield to give the unit a 5+ inv sv if the Exarch can take all wounds by himself?
Please enlighten me!

And sorry if this already came up!

Yes, this is fine.

Yes, this is correct.

The trick is that for multiple wound models, once one model has taken a wound, that wounded model MUST take all future wounds.

For example, take 4 terminators, one of which has a storm shield. Lets say they're shot at by eldar shuriken weapons, which deal 10 normal wounds and 1 AP3 wound.

You can take the AP3 wound on the storm shield terminator, but if he fails the save, you MUST put the rest of the saves on the wounded terminator.
