I recently found a German site selling model cars in decent 40K sizes, so I bought four cars that I'm going to convert into orky buggies/cars.

This is the first one!

I really want to like it since the general shape is awesome.

But then... The wheels are VERY wrong (no ork would take his time to fiddle around with rims that long). Some neat orky wheels would make that build 500% more orky. A few thin plasticard plates and a ton of rivets in addition would make this pretty much perfect. Maybe a metal jaw shape around the intake at the front.

Sorry. I dont really like it that way. It looks too much like what it was before.

Morkphoiz: I hear you, but I guess it boils down to taste. I personally dislike the super over the edge thing with orks, where everything must be shaped like a skull or has jagged edges.

The other buggies will be a bit more armoured. I wanted this one stil being a sleek, elegant car. My idea isn't that they built the cars by the way, but that it's looted human cars that they quickly outfitted with weapons and in some cases armour plates. But thanks for the constructive criticism!

I really like it however i do agree its needs abit more ork , mybe to keep with your theme of a quickly looted car ,mybe make the connections of the ork guns more like they have been hammered or welded on ,just a small subtle amount would really bring the ork vibe ,without going down the over the top ork look

Put me in the "want to like it" camp. However I look at it and just see a 1950's race car...with guns on it. I've never enjoyed Ork vehicles when I look at it and immediately see exactly what the base model is.

Now, would it be awesome for an actual Earth-based Mad Max kind of game? Sure. But as an Ork unit out in the distant space...running a 1950's Formula Car as a war buggy? It just stands out way too much.

I admit the same thing happens with 90% of the WW2 kits people use as well.

Like the conversion but you could do some more with the colours. Maybe even add some more orkish parts e.g. armour plates to make it more orkey!

After that massive love fest I'm proud to post my second converted war buggy. This one is a bit more "orky", but I still wanted to maintain the original design of the looted car.
