I am sure this has been asked before, but I have not found where, so here goes!

On a large model, by the RAW, how much or what part of the model has to be seen to target it with a shooting attack? Does it have to be center of mass, or can the tip of a Flyrant's wing poking around a building do?

Similarly, and somewhat related, on a model like a Flyrant, could you therefor measure from said wingtip for your own shooting attacks? What about Assault? Can a tall enough model assault a big-profile model by coming in B2B with a wing?

I looked through the rules, but did not find what I was looking for on this one. Thanks a ton in advance!

Any part. You can see his pinkie toe and still shoot.

Yes, you can measure from a wingtip for LOS, or as commonly joked about - A tank can fire out from a bit of tread.
You do not need LOS to assault.

However, you measure B2B from actual bases, so you can't measure from the tip of your wing... Unless the model has no base, in which case you would measure from any part of the model.

From Stepping Into a New Edition of Warhammer 40,000:

Q: How do I determine if a model is visible to another model?

A: The models are visible to each other if you can draw a straight, uninterrupted line between any part of one model to any part of the other.

There is no difference for model size. Everything from a Grot to a Baneblade draws line of sight the same way.
