I'm considering on modding the Lord of Contagion model from the Dark Imperium boxset by cutting off the axe head and replacing it with a Manreaper blade from the Deathshroud Bodyguards box. Would people recommend pinning? As well, for painting the model would you glue the rest of the body and cape after painting it separately?

Have a look at my album in the pics thread. simple 20 min conversion and all you need is snips and files and superglue!!

I modified some of the combat weapons on my pre-heresy Deathguard, using pinning. Definitely recommend pinning, it made working on this dudes scythe a lot easier...

Have you done this before?

If both pieces are plastic then plastic glue should be enough. Don't use superglue for conversions, its more brittle and doesn't work well with what are often fragile alterations.

@The Golden Yes I have pinned models before, not sure of the LoC scythe's stability. Wanted to know from people with more experience than I on this matter.
