Hi folks, I have a squadron of leman russ battle tanks that I'd love to paint up for my IG. One problem, having seen the "Ryza Pattern" tank turrets available from FW, I can't stand the look of the stock turret anymore, and it appears that they don't sell the battle cannon turret separately. So I was wondering, would it be possible to get one of the other turrets, say, a demolisher or vanquisher turret, and swap the gun out with the stock battle cannon? Hopefully someone here can answer.

The forgeworld turrets are one solid chunk of resin. with the exception of the hatch on the top.

it would be a job to hack off the gun and stick a new one on, but not impossible.

Some of them are one-piece, but others are two-part (and I'm sure the Ryza ones are two-part):



Your best bet is to give FW a call and double-check with them (and also ask if they've got some battle cannon ones spare )

You could get the vanq turret, cut the gun down and glue on some brass or plastic tube. It'd look more in line with the FW russ gun, rather than using the plastic GW gun which personally I feel would look too awkward (YMMV however). Cut off the co-ax heavy stubber and stick a targeting lens in its place.

I magnetized mine, with even 3rd party turrets from Victoria miniatures.

Cheers for the responses folks. Yeah, looks like a "sawn-off" vanq turret is my best bet.

You could acquire (insert flavour here you might use in JUST Turret package) turrets, and follow up with Medium weapons from Blood and Skulls to give you the weapon options you need.
