Okay, so already I'm hearing you say ''why do you use marines instead of cultist ?''. Simple, I don't have cultists and I'm not really intending to paint 60+ models. Plus, I already have like 70+ power armour models, so I might use some from time to time.

Of course, I could have gone full multiple Vanguard Detachments, but I really wanted to max out the CP's and have some troops to capture objectives.

I'd use one CP to put the chosen in concealement, and use the others to make the terminators shoot a second time. Also one CP to put the Leviathan in concealement. I took two Chaos Lord in terminator armour to teleport them around the battlefield in such a way that everyone will be able to reroll their 1's and I took one sorcerer because Prescience and Warptime are just damn good.

You might be wondering why I took a 10-men unit of chosen instead of just the minimum for special weapons. Simple : ablative wounds. Even if I put them in concealement, I might not have the first turn, and thus they might draw fire on my opponent first turn. Of course, I could simply put them far enough so that wouldn't be a problem, but the idea is to put the maximum output of damage as soon as turn one with the teleport strike and concealement.

What do you think of it ?

Honestly you're better off just using another Vanguard detachment with Chosen instead of the regular Chaos Marine squad. You only pay a few more points for more LD and attacks and special weapon saturation. That's much better than anything that Objective Secured can offer.

Also since you're using FW I'd say Arkos is almost mandatory. He infiltrates by himself and gives you another CP for using him. Definitely consider him at least.

I think you'd be better off with 1 squad of ten termies than 2 squads of five, as you can get a lot more or of the firing twice and warp time stuff.

You also can't conceal dreads, as far as i know.

I'd also say you don't need 3 rhinos, since your marines can fit into 2.

You can also save some points by using lords with jump packs. They are slightly easier to kill, but since you mostly get to decide where they and when they can be attacked unless the enemy has snipers, i don't see this as a big issue.

If you do take regular marines, i think you need to take a special and a combi weapon so they can actually do some damage, and i like plasma over melts.

I don't love the unit of chosen, mostly because it costs a lot and you already have a lot of plasma dropping in, but you can't buff the unit much since you'll want to focus the buffs on the unit that is shooting twice. The way i see it, they will probably do decent damage to something, but then die the next turn.

All that being said, i don't love the list style in general. You are relying a lot on the terminator's alpha strike to cripple the enemy on the first turn, and have invested a lot of points into their doing so. The issue as i see it is that most good lays have some kind of defense of against deepstriking, be it SM scouts, lines of conscripts, kroot, and anything else that can get in/create space between the dropping terminators and the stuff they will want to kill. Warp time helps against this some, so i think the termy bomb is still a valid option against a lot of enemies in and if itself, but i don't think the rest of the army really supports them enough if they don't do well, since it isn't in their face turn 1, and doesn't do a ton of shooting other than the dread. This means that even if the terminators do well, they will take the focus of the enemy fire and possibly die, or at least get pretty messed up, and then you just have the dread and marines, which arent bad but maybe not enough to finish the game out on their own.

I'd make the changes i mentioned and see if you can pack some more shooting or oomph into the non alpha strike part of the army.

Best of luck.

schiedam

Last night i was calculating calculating calculating...
Im a alfa legion player 2 .. hmm do you have 3 chaos spawns? and 3 sorcerers ? if so i think you can go full brigade with all the plasma and warp time you want. not realy but you could field all the cms you want

if not you could go Vanguard Spearhead battalion why ?
Havocs have same shooting weapon options as chosen but are cheaper , its not much but every plasma counts :S i left some points so you can customize it a bit like give them the icons up grade sorcerers to plasma ect ect

Created with BattleScribe
added my ideas on tacticks
basic idea behind the list is deepstrike the termies . maby deep strike 3 sorcerers depending on there spells buff the termies with Prescience. or you could run them with your army and cast warp time on the other havocs to get them in range with there plasma guns i strongly suggest use your CP for re roll plasma burns or to make sure you get prescience on your units . or cast warp time to get your termies in to battle but then i would take combi flamers/ melta as they are assault weapons

This looks closer to how I would approach your idea, but I might lose the Havocs for 2 Cultist squads for potential Infiltrate material for an Objective or just camping. That's just how I feel though.
