Hi all.

So I originally painted up my Death Guard in a variance of the scheme they show, but then I painted a few to be closer to their Horus Heresy scheme, then I painted up a couple to look really rusty.

Now that i have the codex and the new models are starting to get released I want to settle on a single scheme, but I'm not entirely sure which one I like the best.

So here I am asking for Dakka's wonderful opinion


The original scheme i had painted them in:


Colors: Armor~ Green, Fabric~ Orange, Details~ Orange, Trim~ Brass


The Horus Heresy-ish scheme:


Colors: Armor~ Bone White/Beige, Fabric~ Leather, Details~ Orange, Trim~ Brass


The really rusty scheme:


Colors are the same as the first scheme but with a lot of rust and beige fabric


Alternatively, I could just do the Horus heresy like scheme but add more rust to that one.

Your lighting in those pictures is very red. It's hard to tell what color they actually are

They're the auto adjusted ones, I'll post the original images, thanks for pointing that out

Better, but the problem isn't the auto adjust. It's the lighting in the pictures itself. You need a cleaner light source and/or to adjust the levels on the camera.

I tried taking some other pictures but they're not much better, I'm afraid it's all I can do unfortunately

I would say go with a combo of the first and 3rd. The green and orange will have a lot of contrast and pop. Get some beige bits in there occasionally. to build some contrast from the brighter colors to a more muted color.

Rust up 1 in 3 to 1 in 6 models per a unit to add some variety and don't skimp on the rust with particularly ancient looking models, captains, commanders, and characters.

I actually quite like that, I'll paint up a few and see how it turns out

Thanks! It was just a lot of Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust

Can't see much of anything in the pics, friend.

Well they seem to be producing their own fog cloud

But picking through it i like the h heresy one.

I second a mixture of 1 and 3. I really like the high contrast style of the orange and green, plus the weathering you did in the third one.
