Subject: [1000] - Tzeentch/Chaos - Help Me Pick A Variant!
I will be playing my first full casual game this week (I've done a couple of practice turns.. err battle rounds... and a LOT of reading to get the rules down). Let me know which of these lists seems better to bring! The basics of the lists are the same, the major differences will be between the gear/number of daemon princes & chariots, and the composition of the horror squads.
I'm still waiting on a few more Malefic Lord models to come in the mail, as well as I'm ordering a few more daemon princes when I get the chance. As far as other units available to go, I have 21 Flamers of Tzeentch, 30 blue horrors of tzeentch (trash), 2 heralds of tzeentch and another on chariot, 3 nurglings, 3 plague drones, 60 plague bearers, and a herald of nurgle unused in these lists.

You've got a nice, hard-hitting, mobile force in the Daemon Princes + Burning Chariots.
Your Horrors + Changeling + Psykers constitute a nice backline that can take objectives and BLAST.
Thank you, I ended up bringing the list that has 3x burning chariot. Wow, those things put in WORK.
My opponent fielded 1k points of dark angels in a tac squad, terminator squad, whirlwind, stormhawk interceptor, vindicare assn, azrael, and some other hq. I lost.... the brimstones and 1 chariot before tabling. Daemon princes never even made it to combat, and i never even got most of my stuff in range before the game was over.

One piece of advice, Warp Flux is basically the same as smite, and you can't use it outside of 12 inches. With Malefic Lords, you want them casting a psychic power every turn to increase the chance of perils and get those melee bonuses.
I usually take Unnatural Vigor with them, since it can't affect CSM / Daemon units, just to get that roll starting on the first turn. With 2 MLs, there's about a 40% chance of getting that by the 4th turn - when it matters.

I honestly didn't realize the morph was what made them good and was just taking them as 30pt smite machines, next game I'll try that and foot slog them a lil closer to charge range!
