What the title says - I'd love to hear ideas for narrative campaigns and how they interplay with the rules.

8x4, with a hill in the center. Nids vs humans. The center hill should be heavily fortified. This is balenced for 2v2 or larger, with nids deploying on both edges with humans in the middle.

Imperium needs to hold an objective, say a relic, in the center of the castle until they can be evacuated. On turn 5-7 you roll to see if the game ends and evac comes. Nids however have all infantry come back from the table edge if wiped on a 3+, and all other units return on a 5+. 1 command point can be blown to ensure a unit comes back. This command point is single use. Nids can deploy a unit coming in from the long table edge if they blow 2 command points. If at any point control of the relic is lost, its game over man!

The planet is dying, hope is lost, and only evacuation before the planet is glassed is viable. Your goal is simple, survive in the cathedral and escape with it's relic before the endless swarms roll over you like a tidal wave crashing through a beaver dam.

Well we've used the FW-Conquest campaign system for regular 40K and it's pretty amazing.

All the heavy lifting work is in the setup prior to starting, but once it gets going it runs very smooth.

You could adapt it to fit 8th edition 40k pretty easily too. I did some serious breakdowns starting here: http://atticwars40k.blogspot.com/2016/04/conquest-campaign-for-dummies-part-1.html
