Hey guys! I'm at a point where my World Eaters legion is where I want it to be model wise, so I'm looking for a second venture. I didn't want it to be marines, I wanted it to be elite and I don't like Mechanicum, so custodes it was.

I've thrown together a 2k list, just wanted to see what you all thought of it. Here it is, 2k, Crusade Force Org, 2000 points on the nose

Tribune, Cyber Familiar, Paragon Spear, Presium(?) shield, Melta bombs.

5 Custodian Guard, 2 Pyrthite Spears

5 Custodian Guard, 2 Pyrthite Spears

5 Sentinel Guard, 2 Solarite Gauntlets, Vexilla

2 Aquillas Dreads, Dreadspear, Wrist mounted Adrithe destructors

3 Agamatus jetikes, Adrithe Destructors

(Sorry for the terrible spelling, fairly sure none of those weapon types are spelt correctly)

A Song of Ice and Fire - House Greyjoy.
AoS - Maggotkin of Nurgle, Ossiarch Bonereapers & Seraphon.
Bloodbowl - Lizardmen.
Horus Heresy - World Eaters.
Marvel Crisis Protocol - Avengers, Brotherhood of Mutants & Cabal.
Middle Earth Strategy Battle game - Rivendell & The Easterlings.
The Ninth Age - Beast Herds & Highborn Elves.
Warhammer 40k  - Tyranids.

Are you really going to foot slog a 20 model army? I hope you don't have to take any objectives.

I think you need a couple transports or a tank or two. You're going to be out ranged and out gunned against a lot of armies.

I'd be interested in hearing how this works out.

Well the actual plan was to give the tribune the warlord trait that allows me to infiltrate units (From the 7th ed rulebook) to somewhat negate the foot slogging.

I'd get rid of the dreads and ad a Palas to one of the squads and take a Caladius for long range support.

Going to break this down a little unit by unit, I'm not a big fan of the overall composition of the list, but that can vary a lot on matchups and personal taste, but there are some individual tweaks that can be made without really changing the way things look.

--Tribune, Cyber Familiar, Paragon Spear, Presium(?) shield, Melta bombs.
Nothing to really complain about here, I personally prefer the gauntlet to the spear tribune, but its a matter of taste, either way I highly recommend digital lasers.

--5 Custodian Guard, 2 Pyrthite Spears
Pyrthite spears are ridiculously short ranged, add to that no deep strike or transport, and against a competent opponent, your'e probably not going to get much use out of them. (save 60 points here over both units)

--5 Custodian Guard, 2 Pyrthite Spears
As above. Im also not a big fan of the spear units in general, thinking that the sentinels are a way better unit, but again it could just be a taste thing.

A final note on custodian guard squads... always take a Vexilla with power axe! Otherwise your entire unit could be bogged down by an artificer armored sergeant.

--5 Sentinel Guard, 2 Solarite Gauntlets, Vexilla
Nothing to criticize on this unit, a decent size and good number of gauntlets. although make sure that your'e vexilla has one of the gauntlets, as he gets an extra attack over the guys with shields.

--2 Aquillas Dreads, Dreadspear, Wrist mounted Adrithe destructors
This is the only long range you have, if these die, you're open to being out played. so protect them with as much terrain as you can. They are also your only real way to deal with knights reliably so again make sure that they are as safe as they can be while doing the job they need to.
The adrithe destructors are probably a waste of points here (15 each if memory serves). If youre close enough to use them, then youre more interested in making it to assault. and the unit is already expensive and fragile (relative to the rest of your army). save another 30 points here.

--3 Agamatus jetikes, Adrithe Destructors
This unit is a weird one. its got a good damage out put, but has to be within 18 inches to affect the battle field. Its the worst unit you have in assault, and will probably eventually loose combat to a tactical squad with a powerfist and artificer armour if they charge you.
However we have an easily available fix for this unit available to us thanks to the other suggestions that I've made... take the 90 points we have saved, and spend 70 of them making those destructors into las talons.
Now you've added another 18 inches of range to your weapons, with a very similar damage output.

You've got 20 points left (assuming you were on the 2k button with the list before hand, as I'm at work and not adding everything up). If you can Id highly recommend swapping as many spear guys for shield guys as you possibly can and getting teleporters for the two units that your tribune isn't with. Custodes are deceptively squishy when not protected by a tanky character so having the option to keep your scoring units off the board for a couple of turns is kinda handy.

If i were you, id also try to swap one of my spear units for a second shield captain, as from my experience, you'll get more out of one unit that's very difficult to kill, than two that are heavy weapons/enemy terminator fodder. Of course your millage/meta may differ. but those are just my thoughts with what I would do if I had your model pool (assuming nothing is stuck together yet).
