It seems to me, based on some of the characters so far in various forces, that Eldrad really should come with a boost to you CPs when you select him for your army.

He is one of the oldest and strategically wisest characters of the 40k universe, and is a profound psyker able to see many possible futures.

So I would surely presume that he should bring to his armies a boost to their CPs.

Maybe D3 or 3? Others in the game do so..

Any thoughts on this? Maybe this is something that will be rectified when the Codex comes out?

He certainly *should* give CPs, or some other equivalent benefit to represent that he can see the future.

GW seems solidly on the, "The Imperium is the bestest and gets all the best toys" train so far with 8th, so I wouldn't count on seeing equivalent or balanced rules, TBPH.

Froth at the top, dregs at the bottom, but the middle - excellent

Assuming the Imperium envy part is referring specifically to CPs and not a mostly-unrelated tangent, I'd point out that the only non-imperial codex to come out so far features Abaddon who also hands out bonus CP. So while the imperium has way more books so far, 100% of non-imperial codices that are out have CP-boosting characters.

As for Eldrad granting bonus CP, I think that would be a perfectly reasonable bonus for him to give. However...

*I'm not sure he's really underpowered for his price right now, so granting bonus CP would either imbalance him or demand that he have his price i ncreased.

*You could make a case for basically any eldar HQ granting bonus CP. Autarchs (and Yriel) walk the Path of Command and are obsessed with battlefield strategy and thus grant +2CP. All farseers can see the future really well and therefore grant +2CP. Illic Nightspear has seen it all and knows how to handle this situation. Have a couple extra CP. The Phoenix Lords are demi-gods of war that have been fighting for millenia. +2CP. The Avatar of Khaine is a shard of the god of war and fills the hearts of the aeldari with a desire to battle all the more fiercely. +2CP. Warlocks are seers like the Farseers, and spirit seers know a dead guy who knows how to deal with this situation. Here's some leftover CP.

Some of those guys make a stronger case than others, but where do you draw the line? Are we sure that Eldrad's powers of prophecy should really make him better at using "stratagems" and commanding an army than Yriel who is literally on the "Path of Command" and has roughly as much special snowflake power as Eldrad?

So I'd be fine with Eldrad granting bonus CP. I would just be curious why a regular farseer doesn't grant at least 1 bonus CP or why Eldrad is better at leading armies than an autarch.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.
