Hi, everyone.

I haven't played since march and want to get back into it. I watched some space marine and guard battles to get a bit of a feeling for the rules (8th) and this week ill be playing myself.

I had a cheesy eldar list and I want to try some of those units again. I know they aren't as good as they were in 7th, but is this any good now?

Personally I quite like the list as top competitive lists arent the be all and end all to me.

However i think the general consensus is wraith lords are not worth the points for what they bring to the table.

Agree, I do not bring my WL that much anymore. I have run my spiders a few times and they just have not done it for me. Serpents are great in this edition. If you could find some spare points add Spirit Stones and Vectored Engines/Crystal Targeting Matrix depending on your turret load out. 13 wounds, ignoring damage on a 6 with stones and -1 damage for the shield. People have trouble cracking these when I play.

If you're playing a objective heavy game it can work in a friendly setup. Otherwise most parts of the army are just too fragile and don't deal enough damage in return.

Wraithlords are really not worth it right now. I still like the models, but getting worse with wounds in combination with penalties for moving and shooting heavy weapons hurt them just too much.

I find War Walkers to be a good replacement in friendly battles. Due to their invulnerable, lower costs and not getting worse until they die they often fill the role of anti tank for me. They are not as versatile if it comes to close combat though.

Spiders can work in such lists, too. Best if accompanied by a conceal Warlock/Spirit Seer/Hemlock, nicely stacking with their flicker jump. But I think they need a larger unit size to get over the first losses.

game was objective heavy against a mostly slow army.
used the wraithlord as a shooting platform with 48" range was not bad, tried to get in close combat with primaris marines, but it got shot to pieces before it was close enough.

kept my bikes at the back keeping his models just in range and taking some objectives.

hawks and spiders took other objectives and even survived a while, because he was concentrating all his firepower on waveserpents and wraithguard.

didn't have a lot left when we finished but took a lot more objectives than he did.

How long did it take him to crack a Serpent? Or I guess the better question is how much firepower did he put in to destroy one if he did? Just curious.

about 20 overcharged plasma shots and a lot of bolterfire. one waveserpent in his first turn and another in his second, so they went quite quickly, but by then they where already in his face with my wraithguard.
