Hi!

I got my hands on x30 of these limited edition dice and want to buy and build a new army that would work with them thematically.

I've been pointed towards anything magic heavy and even had the idea of coating them in a dye floated, Im a bit apprehensive about that though as they are very high value.

What faction do you guys n gals think would fit the design best?
And do you think coating therm in a dye is worth consideration?

I have to say this is the first time I heard that somebody wanted to start an army due to their accessory...

But back to your question... They do look rather archaic. Maybe a necromancer themed army?

Definitely Undead or otherwise magic heavy.

But, given the facings? Might want to check with your opponent if they're OK with those dice. Might be a bit hard to read in the heat of battle!

All I can say is good luck - dice like that "look" neat but often become a massive PITA to use during a game. The more artistic dice become, the harder they are to use. Really bad, most of them.

Word Bearers. The pentagram on the 5 just reminds me of daemon summoning.

I actually got a set of ten of those and planned on using them for skirmish-y games like Hinterlands.

I lasted about a turn and a half before I had to start borrowing my opponent's dice because they were just too annoying to read. And that was just rolling 3-4 at a time.

Yeah I personally hate custom dice, even if it is just a 6/1 symbol. I like normal dice, probably because I can pretty much glance at 50+ of them and my brain just picks out all of the 4+ or whatever if they have standard pips. Must be all of the blob Guard games I have played, it is second nature now.

actually very easy to read.

one ring = 1
double ring = 2
triangle = 3 (3 sides)
square = 4 (4 sides)
5 pointed star
6 pointed star

The symbols match the numerals.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

That'll work good for the "I"and "II" die!

They're very busy, not something I'd want to look at when determining how many 3+ results I have out of 20 dice.

Fancy dice look nice, but gaming with them isn't fun. Dots, solid colour and nice contrast are what I want.

At least they don't have a special symbol for the 1 or 6, those are the worst.
