This is specifically about the 'Strike from the shadows' strategem, but could apply to any.
I wanted to use it on an assault squad and a chaplain during deployment, when my opponent pointed out that you can only use a stratagem once per phase, e.g. you can only re-roll one die in a shooting phase. I said fine, but why does that matter. They said that deployment was itself a phase, the 'deployment phase' just like the movement or shooting phases. It made sense to me at the time so I shrugged and deep-struck the chaplian (I'd paid the points for a jump-pack but wanted the turn one charge the strategem would give me).
But recently I've been hearing of people running multiple alpha legion khorne bezerker units, which uses the mirror stratagem that the AL get to place a unit 9" away from the enemy at the end of deployment.
Was she right about the stratemgem being one use only or could I use it as many times as I want (CP allowing)?

And refuse to love the Spinosaurus because it is a hamfisted attempt at taking what you loved, making it TREX +++ and trying to sell you it.

Deployment is not a phase. I believe there was an FAQ on something just like this.

You can use stratagems that are not in a phase as many times as you want, even in matched play.

As said above, deployment is not a phase, and GW has actually made statements directly saying that you can use that strategem as many times as you want.

Thanks, I'll bear it in mind next time I play.

I've looked through the Faqs for SM and CSM, plus the rule book FAQ, and can''t find where they discuss this?Does anyone have a link.

Deployment isn't a phase, it's a mission rule. The phases are listed in the rulebook and begin with Movement Phase. Deployment, First Turn, Sudden Death, these are all parts of setting up a battle and are located in the mission rules.

It's called a thick skin. The Jersey born have it innately.

Yep:

STRATEGIC DISCIPLINE The same Stratagem cannot be used by the same player more than once during any single phase. This does not affect Stratagems that are not used during a phase, such as those used ‘before the battle begins’ or‘ at the end of a battle round’ .
