While the models look good, they are mostly slightly dark models, so the light background isn't doing them any favours. I think they would look better photographed against a darker background.

The photos are much better.Your painting is neat and clean, but a bit flat; there's areas where I think you could use heavier shading, and it looks like for the most part you aren't doing any highlighting?

Your bases are cool. I think that perhaps going for either a darker stone colour, or even something less "neutral", might have worked a bit better though, considering the Grey Knights themselves are very, well, grey, meaning they blend in just a touch with your bases.

Having said that, my own Grey Knights have sat unpainted for a great many years now, so you're leaps and bounds ahead of me!

Thanks for the comments. I will make an effort to increase shades and highlights. I do them. For sure. But apparently they aren’t turning out. Thanks!!!

Well, sometimes contrast doesn't show up as well in photos, making models look flat. I don't really know why that happens or how to fix it. So subtle shading and highlighting, that might look good in person under good lighting, might not come through in photos. Having said that, subtle shading and highlighting often looks flat on the table as you're viewing the models from a distance (and often under mediocre lighting), so personally I'm leaning towards exaggerating the contrasts even if it's unrealistic.

For example, the highlights look extremely over-the-top and unrealistic in this photo:

But then on the tabletop it looked a bit more like this:

Doesn't look quite as over-the-top in the second photo, does it? So yeah, generally for tabletop minis exaggerating the contrasts works out better.

That’s a great example and thanks for the contrasting pictures.
