Hey Everyone
So a little while ago me and my friends all started to play shadow war just because we had a few friends with tiny armies and so it made sense for us to teach them with it, however one of my friends wanted to play as the Death Guard but the normal Chaos Space Marine rules only went so far so I cooked up my own mini rules set for him to use!

It's essentially the same on the most part as the Chaos Space Marines rules but with the nurgle buff forced and a few name changes and slight tweaks to make it more viable and of course to include the beloved Pox Walkers! We've played a fair few games and he settled on about a 50% win rate across 10 campaigns so I've concluded it's balanced.

While the main reason I made this was so it would just be a prettier, less confusing alternative to fiddling with my book I still would like feedback! I hope to make more rules like these in the future but my first test I hope goes down well with you all.

Kind Regards - Me.

Maybe give the Champion access to special weapons?

Could you elaborate on how the fiendish plague rule works?

Say I'm playing... I d'know... space marine scouts. During a battle against your nurgle guys, a pox walker kills a scout and rolls a 5 or 6 for the fiendish plague. As a result, my scout transforms into a poxwalker for the remainder of the game.

That part is easy enough. But after the game,..

1. Do I still roll to recover my scout as normal?
2. Do you roll to see if your new pox walker is gained permanently even if my scout doesn't die during my own recovery roll?

Also, it seems weird for a turned poxwalker to keep its specializations. I could see one keeping the model's flaws as those tend to be things like head injuries and body part damage/loss, but having a sneaky zombie that is really good at shooting ranged weapons at a distance seems odd.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Something else I'd like to point out. Since Pox Walkers are New Recruits, after 3 missions, they would become Plague Marines.

Furthermore, you have Plague Devastators as Troopers instead of Specialists.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
