My fellow Dakkanoughts it's time to choose a winner of the League of Extraordinary Riveters terrain competition #23 "Child's Play"

The Brief:
"Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children!"
Tabletops abound with Mystic Ruins, Bunkers and Orbital Defense Lasers. But what about little Jimmy and Sally? Where do they play? Sleep? Go to school?
Your task it to model something reminiscent of the children that will grow up to be the Roman Legionnaires or Bug Eyed Monsters of the future.
This could be a lost doll, dropped escaping an Orc hoard, the Circus tents of a carnival set up on the outskirts of the cowboy town, or the Zero-G X-treme! Grav Coaster on Tau-Ceti VI.
Alternately, instead of modelling scale kid's toys you could re-purpose actual kids toys as your raw materials (a suitably weathered Barbie would make a perfect monument to ancient alien overlords and their inhuman physiology)

Many brave souls dared the challenge, not all made it through. From a grueling storm of foam, glue and paint six emerge triumphant, terrain in hand to be judged.
WIP's for many of the entries can be seen in the contest thread HERE

kestral with "St Dravidia"

St. Dravidia is patroness of the Pentegrad Scholias and used to frighten school children into doing their lessons. From her lips falls an endless stream of parchment - commendations, punishments, grades, expulsions. All are diligently collected and pondered.
Spoiler:

kestral has also earned a bonus vote for finishing before the original deadline

Camkierhi with "Mad Mek Merry-Go-Round"

Spoiler:

Camkierhi has also earned a bonus vote for finishing before the original deadline
additionally because I have a soft spot for Ork terrain +Waaaghmillion virtual votes (*virtual votes do not contribute to final score)

boundless with "Grotwing 737"

a crashed Grotwing 737 made by the Wrong Brothers, Orkillz and Killburz. Unfortunately for both, through myriad mishaps and inadequacies on both their parts, the maiden flight of their Grotwing came to a lugubrious end. Now the only thing to do is find out which brother made the most mistakes and takes the blame.

Parts used:
- Childs plastic mic
- plasticard
- various airfix bits for wings and such
- texture paste for terrain

Spoiler:

boundless08 also earned a bonus vote for finishing before the original deadline (and a Waaaghmillion virtual points as well)

Viktor von Domm with "Victory Fields of Von Domm" (I named it that, not Viktor's fault)
Viktor picked a unique approach to the theme, useing actual child labor to construct a gaming board!

I used MDF boards of a 30cm x 30cm size...all in all 30 boards!
the boards were covered with left over wallpaper bits...to add a bit of structure...(kitchen and living room^^) and then got coated by cheap wall paint and got a dry brush with a lighter tone...
then we made our very own grass flock...from sawdust we got for free from the local hardware shop...added paint and then let it all dry and i later on hat to use a mortar and pestle to make it in a fine flock...
covered partly areas with PVA and applied the flock...then sprayed everything with matt varnish and we called it a wrap...no i tell a lie, as we also had fun with a foam cutter and used hardware store styrofoam to build hills too
Spoiler:

Are those Rogue Trader era marines acting as scale markers there Vik?

Syro_ with "Teddy of War" (my naming again sorry)

Spoiler:

Syro_ gets special mention for not only sculpting a tinny teddy bear but then deciding it was too big and sculpting another even smaller one!

Fango with "Spawning Pod"

Spoiler:

Everyone pick a favorite? good get voting, you have 1 week.

Looks like I completely failed to notice this one until now.

Some very nice work all round, I can see this isn't going to be an easy decision.

Well done to all those who finished!

Edit: Oops forgot to say, welcome to the LoER Z-Ray

Congratulations to our Winner Fango!

Everyone did amazing work and I look forward to seeing what Fango comes up with as the theme for the next competition.

Thanks Z-Ray, to everyone that voted, and especially to the others who participated in this challenge. You all did such a great job! Thanks so much for the extension that allowed me to finish, and for the patience of those that got their submissions in before the original deadline.

I'd been made a member of the LoER for work that I had done in my project blog, but have never won one of these terrain competitions, so it's nice to be 'official' according to the new requirements of membership.

Having not run one of these before, can the veterans offer any advice (besides reading past entry rules, which I have done and will review)? I'm tempted to choose a topic that is very specific to a style and theme I want to see, but I realize constraints can sometimes be too restrictive on creativity, and might turn off potential participants who have no interest in said theme/style.I'm open to suggestions!

I'd like to get the new contest rolling soon, as in the next week or two.
