My friend is painting salamanders with a pretty limited paint selection
(He's using the paints from the necrons paint set)

He's done incredibly well considering what he has to work with

But I'm thinking of getting him 4 or 5 paints to expand the detail a bit

So my question is, after looking at the models, what paints would you recommend I get him?

Brown, black and green washes. Highlight color to make them pop - red or yellow.

looks good, I would agree with the color washes. My Salamanders are a non-traditional color scheme.

It definitely works.
