Yes folks, it's the new South Park game. It's finally emerged from development hell, and is now available.

My pre-order copy arrived on time, and so far I'm loving it.

Now, being South Park, it's not a game for people who don't enjoy the show. The gameplay itself is fairly simplistic, but it's very much driven by the humour rather than an intense strategic gaming experience.

So far, I'm absolutely loving it. Haven't come across any of the hallmark insanity yet, but am only a couple of hours in.

Anyone else playing it?

Downloaded last night, have not played yet. A little disheartened with all the comments I've seen that this has some excessive Ubisofting going on: uplay, denuvo, day 1 season pass dlc. Feth Ubisoft.

This alone is the only reason I didn't pre-order it. I might pick it up when it eventually goes on sale, the wife and I loved The Stick of Truth. Otherwise I'm glad to hear its a solid game.

It's very good, and different enough from Stick of Truth in terms of gameplay that it isn't just "more of the same, but now it's superheroes".

Don't worry, the flying rodent gak insane stuff is there, and it is both hilarious and disturbing, as is tradition...

Well, second bout tonight....

The insanity is starting to creep in. I know who took Scrambles...

Pace feels about right as well. As with Stick of Truth, it's hard to find yourself out of your depth combat wise. As a distinctly casual player (I rarely if ever dabble in multiplayer), that's kept it fun, though I'm yet to master combat, I've not lost a fight yet. Or had to resort to healing items.

May not be a 'day one' game for many, but I'm definitely enjoying it well enough.

Started watching it on youtube, got bored, not going to bother playing it.

Was vaguely curious where they were going with 'the Moorish' at the beginning, but started to suspect that it won't go anywhere.

But it really does look like more of the same, but for some reason wants to twiddle buttons during combat. I dunno. Just not in the mood for poop and gay jokes. [The vid I was watching, they picked the blaster class and I got very tired of the 'look at the little flamer' line by the end of tutorial combat]

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Combat Tutorial didn't last long on the PS4 version? And it wasn't narrated by 'Morgan Freeman' either.

As for the jokes. It's South Park. If you find the show crude and unfunny, there's nothing here to dissuade you of that.

Me, I have an appreciation for anarchic and bizarre humour, so it's suiting me down to a tee

Just finished the games after a day or 2.

The gamepay is not so intense or complicated (way to easy) and controller support was a bit buggy but the game itself was a lot of fun if you are looking to have a good time with quite a few laughs. Only for people who love south park though. It builds further on stick of truth. and it is like getting an extra south park movie going in between the last 2 seasons reliving all the former seasons of south park.
