You've been captured by a rather nasty Dark Eldar cabal and they have some tasty after-hours plans for you and your fleshy bits.

Luckily you've found a single use comms relay in your cell.

What single character from the 40k universe (any faction) do you call to rescue you and why?

Gulliman, Draigo or Grimnar, because they will bring enough plot armor to ensure my safety.

Saw a similar thing on FB and someone answered: the Nighthaunter... gotta say, damn good answer. He might do worse things to you once you've 'been freed' though.

Bad idea. Never hang out with people with plot armour. Since they are invulnerable, you have a high chance of getting hurt or killed during the desperate escape in order to increase tension and drama. Never be the redshirt in a group.

That's unfair. Can the Cabal at least ask for help from Harlequins and Craftworlders?

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

Is any of this relevant? The Harlequins would show up at the end and rescue you regardless of who you called. This is the only way GW knows how to move a story forward.

Well on the assumption that the individual contacted would actually rescue you (and not put you in further jeopardy), gotta be Vect, less torture whilst waiting for the rescue team to arrive.

Assuming he's not answering, Cawl next. There seems nothing that guy is incapable of.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

LOL Definitely Slaanesh.

No one from the Imperium is going to come help you. You are so insignificant on an individual level. They'd be like, bummer, this dude is hosed.

But, you call Slaanesh?

"Hey buddy. 'Member all those Eldars you were lusting after? Get a bead on my coordinates. I'm in their hidden city. Happy hunting!"

Maybe I make it out. Maybe not. But this probably gives me the best odds. And even if it takes Slaanesh too long to get there, I can die knowing their entire civilization is basically fethed.

Yeah good point, i'm assuming this is in Commarmarmarhaghaghgh.

If it's just a ship or something, I'd call Draigo. Pop in, slaughter everyone, gate me back home.

Getting to you is the hard part, by far. Even if your rescuer hypothetically laid claim to a functioning webway portal after a battle or something, your rescuer would still have to navigate the city to find the exact cell you are in, an almost futile task, even with an army. That pretty much narrows our options down to people who can appear out of thin air right where you are. Draigo and Celestine are therefore our best candidates.

Then, it comes to getting you out. Draigo can Gate of Infinity you out, and to somewhere safe for you at that. Celestine would have to escort you to a webway exit, which is less than ideal, since 1: it doesn't necessarily lead somewhere safe and 2: the Dark Eldar can use the gate to chase after you. Celestine can get out by dying; you can't.

Therefore, I think Draigo is your best bet.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!
