Sell all of it then use that money to date girls (or guys)! But no, seriously! Ignore the tabletop scene while you are at school and have fun then come back to it when you have a job. In the end you do feel a connection to them and don't want to sell them but they're only plastic models while school is your life and you want to have a good time at life!

I'd just keep them honestly, you can probably match and more what you'd get with a part time job for the rest of this semester. You're going to get a very poor return on them.

I have to agree with above said.

Since you obviously want to stay in the game (as you want to at least keep a small force)

I would have to agree with the "keep them all and find another way" option

If you need the money asap, then you could do a personal loan (there's a website my GF has used a couple times where you request an amount and people with money offer loans and you choose which offer you like best. I know it's completely safe and not a rip-off/scam) You can then get a part-time job to pay back the loan. Also, schools usually give loans and financial aid to pay for classes.

The reason to keep the models is simple economics, when you get back in the game after school, you will end up paying more to get exactly where you are with your army now than you originally paid for your models and you will probably also pay more than you made from selling off your models.

Assuming all of this is built in plastic, I would be interested in buying:

2x Assault Cannon Razorback
5x Boltgun Sterngaurds
1x Heavy Flamer Sternguard
5x Hammers/Shield Terminators

I'm assuming these are not damaged, or messed up weirdly in any way. My intent would be to paint over them, so as long as the paint isn't gobbed on we're good too.

PM me and we can chat

I have traded successfully on dakka in the past.

Alas, the problem isnt that i dont have a job. I am in fact working while in school.
I will confess, part of my motive is that i WANT to get rid of some of these, i feel like im drowning in them sometimes

Get yourself a 3 or 4 drawer rack-style tackle box, that's what I'm using to keep my pile of space wolves in. I also saves the SW battleforce box to hold my rhinos. 2 boxes and all my minis, hardly any room consumed.

*edit*
check out my gallery images for how much I have (minus the 5 rhinos and 2 droppods I just added which are what I store in the battleforce box)

I've sold old warhammer before, you don't get enough for it for the cost and the time you put in. If you absolutely must keep a small 1000 point/50PL force you can play with in your free time and sell the rest

Give them tk charity or a player who needs them. Or have an auction at your club or on ebay!

You could always sell them to a friend.

If they still have them by the time you come back, you could arrange to buy them back for the same price.

He needs the cash for school?

Honestly, just sell off everything - you could easily get between $500-$750 if you're patient for that stuff on Ebay, or locally via craigslist. If you have something particularly well-painted, you could keep that stashed in a closet somewhere.

If you absolutely must keep a chunk, hang on to:

3 AC Razorbacks
1 Lascan Pred
1 Ashmantle
1 Vulcan Hestan
1 Squad Sniper Scouts
2 Tac Squads (5 or 10 man, with whatever weapons)

And just let the rest go.

If want to sell quick the advantage and problem you have is marines... is very popular (so big market) however, is a gak tonne of people want to sell at the same time. So can get quick sale for stuff all cash (marine stuff is cheap as chips on ebay, especially if it is off sprue). I wouldn't bother unless you have a local market.

To pay for school:

When I left the military I went to Uni and did 6 years full time (and worked 12 hour shifts doing security 5 nights a week on top of it. Still got great GPA's). If your area (your local job market) allows you to get a job (even if stacking shelves etc etc) whats a few years hard work to get what you need for your future? Selling stuff is a short term solution to a long term problem. I'm not denigrating your situation, but maybe look into other solutions that can sustain you for your entire education.

Just some thought.

I just saw this. Then your problem is addiction. Just go to your closest gaming store, give them you entire collection and ask them to sell it (give them a commission) problem solved (don't need to worry about anything).

If it fully painted, old, metal or out of print. Keep it.

Nib/primed normally gets a reasonable price.

I have 2nd/3rd edition nids sitting in my display case. My rogue trader harlequin as well. Heck i used my 4 of those old death jesters to test a 6 death jester, death star when the index first dropped. It was a funny waste of points.

It doesn't sell for very much at all, so I'd recommend keeping them because it's not going to make any difference at all in university tuition.

Otherwise, write yourself up the best 2000 points list you can, and sell what's not on it.

What I would definitely not do is listen to the people telling you to "get a life." School is not, and should not be the be-all and end-all of life. You will have a miserable time if you commit 100% of your week and weekend to study, I guarantee it, because I tried that. Miniatures are wonderful in university for staying sane and being social.

Also, I'd recommend a night at the game store over a night at the bar every day.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Eye of Terror

I sold off all of my 2nd edition Ultramarines, Chaos Marines, and Genestealer Cult models to pay for a semester of college. Along with a lot of vinyl.

Have been looking back with regret ever since. See if there's any other way to make ends meet before you do this.

If you do need to sell them, try to sell to someone you know. I "bought" armies from 6 friends who walked away from the game when 7th edition came out, now some of them want to buy them back.

Unless what you’re selling is either OOP or some how collectible, or painted brilliantly, you’ll be lucky to get a 70% return on original cost.

NIB or on sprue, you’re competing against online retailers who routinely do 20% off RRP, and you’ll be charging or absorbing postage.
As soon as you assemble it or put paint on it, it needs more work putting into it by whoever buys it - unless they just want something painted so they don’t have to.

How much are you trying to raise out of selling your stuff? You might find it more effective to get a short term weekend job for a while, or pull some overtime at your current job if there’s any available.
