Well I'll have a go seeing the models you own and where planning to use. I would give your characters jumppacks makes them much faster and usable . Melta has very short range so why not try some thing else combi plasma. put 2 steurn guard units inside giving them 10 combi plasma guns inside 12' inches giving you 20 plasma shots first turn that you could over charge if need be or fire 4 shots combined at -1
bs so you get 40 shots good for killing big bloks of troops.
you cant you can't deepstrike the captain (500 points have to be on the board . But you could move him up and if you are lucky you could get him in range of a few models so he will give the reroll .
my list is 850 points leaving plenty room for adons or
improvement a captain on a bike and the mantel would have T6 with a metla and a power fist and a 4++ he would be fun to field he could get in range of models to get that 1+ reroll with clever positioning that would allow you to safely overcharge your combi plasma guns .... its just a evil thought
