Hello guys, I have always been a big fan of DakkaDakka so I finally decided to join. Anyway a few days ago I bought a vindicator to go with my dark angle army, along with a few paints. I finished painting it yesterday so here it is, cc is welcome!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome to Dakka. The vindicator tank is looking good. I started my Dark Angels army because of the Dark Vengeance box set, did you start yours for the same reason?

Hello and welcome! That Vindicator is looking good! I really like the hazard stripes and the weathering, maybe some soot residue around the muzzle would make it look even better?

I too started dark angle due to the dark vengeance starter box, I originally wanted to play space wolves but the dark angles where way cheaper to get started. On a side note I am looking to get more dark angles only units like deathwing and such what would you suggest?

I'm far from an expert. My force isn't that big, but what I did to flesh out my Dark Angels a bit was look on ebay for pieces of Dark Vengeance people don't want, say if they bought it to get chaos and then want to sell the imperial parts. I took the sword from a spare Captain Balthasar, bought a hooded dark angels head bit from a bits seller on ebay, and I'm planning to make a 1st Captain Beliel figure from those pieces, a dark angel terminator sergeant and some sculpting. Maybe convert some weapons and arms so every terminator squad doesn't have an assault cannon and every three bikes doesn't have a plasma gun. I also printed out a banner/standard of fortitude and converted a terminator into a banner barer.

I hope at least some of this is some help, but at least for tactical choices of stuff, I still play a combination of 6th and 7th editions heavy with house rules, so I have no idea if this stuff is still good for the general gaming community.

I was looking into getting some Ravenwing bickers from the DV starter set and converting them into dark knights, it should be a simple conversion with only a few weapon swaps, but I am having trouble finding dark knights bits for the plasma guns on the bikes and the weapons for the riders.

Wow, I see what you mean. I just did a quick ebay search for bits, and nothing useful is coming up. I'm sorry that starting this conversion is being more difficult than it should.
