When I initially started the project for the fauns I underestimated a lot in what people wanted out of the project. I took feedback, worked out what we can turn our first plastic sprue into, and I finally got to a point with my team that we can begin engineering a sprue design.

I got to say, I have a very big respect for the kit designers after tackling this for five months.

Looking forward to the product in the coming months!

RGD GAMING. We initially had concept sketches and initial renders when we tried a kickstarter, but it was better on our part to redesign and finish the mold. I gathered it seemed forward to let people take a gamble on a vision, so Im working on that vision, going to represent it to everyone and make it what it was supposed to be. Doing that work led to one thing, then another, and what you see is what we put together.

Once we have a .Cad design, we get to talk to the molders to correct and prototype, then invest in the mold.

Found out you can use lesser quality molding materials to make limited batch runs for testing, which helps out a lot.

I like those wicker shields and the overall set up, not sure about the leafy legs.

Seem to organized for a mat of fur? The pewter version of the model, I thought, came out pretty well once it was painted. Something about it being defined made the model stand out that much more.

Yeah these look nice. I still hope you will have a separate box of all female and all male... I have no real need on more male beastmen... but the females look interesting.

Still going by the segregated male and female idea we talked about prior. The females were an opportunity to explore an untapped side of the fauns.

Glad to see this progressing, I backed the original project! I think the "leaves" approach to the fur lends itself to dry brushing, but the leaves might be too wide and uniform. I think the leaves would look better if they were narrower at the top

Could we see more angles on the printed test paint?

Great job pushing this forward.

I liked the original concept and think it has evolved really well. Eagerly await more news on this.

Very interesting. Great to see the project keep evolving.
Are you aiming for HIPS?

The fur looks a bit weird in the render pics, but it might come off more natural on a mini.

It's a bit hard to see from the angle the pic of the painted mini is taken from - the shield is in the way. Some more pictures from different angles would be nice.

I've attached some pics as close as possible as I can get with the phone, with a white background. Should give you an idea of different angles.

And HIP plastic is the goal this round, and Rex plastics (US company, and same state as us) our intended molder. I attempted to work some things out with the UK molders, but there are either long waiting lists or not accepting new clients.

The plastic heads can be adjusted if you need them to line up. The base here won't be representative of the sprue, the sculptor decided he wanted to make a custom base for this to stand on.

Big update, SK Engineering in the UK is willing to take on our project. Noticeable update because they do wargaming models as well. Took a while, but definitely going to be worth it.

Also working on some box art, should get some finalish details at the end of the month.

Renders are being worked on for the Faun shaman stretch goal (other ideas being tackled, which may include centaur bodies)

Lastly, attached is a concept for sprue design (subject to the molders alteration).

I'm interested in getting a few sprues of these, if not a box. How do I get my hand in there for some?

Second question- do you have some arms for Blackpowder, or rifles?

I have a few uses for some of these.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Hello, we're waiting on confirmation of the 3D prints to prototype the parts. Then the molding process itself. I dont expect it to get done during December, so we are aiming around quarter 1 of next year. We're alloting some time to get the models painted, some professional photos done etc.

These were going to be built around fantasy settings, so you would be looking at spears, javelins, bows etc. Though I don't see why the body couldnt be used for that purpose, with some sanding.

Potentially, but you would have to see the model combination in mind. Attached are some pics below. Three of the legs operate on the foot forward, foot back idea and the other two operate on the neutral standing pose. We designed these for Kings of War in mind, with a rank and file agenda.

The 4-1 pose, with the leg backward, allows the model to look like it is bracing in combat, throwing a javelin, firing a bow or holding a weapon upward or downward. Stepping it up a notch, we even threw in a throwing knife and axe.

The standing pose acts as a neutral balance for the 4-1, but to spice things up we put an optional shofar (horn accessory) or two handed axe or falx in. The models do well in either front or back ranks.

The kit is mixed 5 male and 5 female to avoid being static. Wicker shields are wider and give good coverage over the front, while leather shoulder pads give you the feeling of a lightly armed but pragmatic tribal warrior. We imagined players adding different colors to the cloth, adding tribal colors to the exposed torso and leaving some models covered with leather pads vs some who are not. Mixing and matching the models, you can create combinations that suit your gaming purpose. The shaman concept is being designed to further this by doubling as either a shaman for your army, or as an alternative leader unit for your rank and file games. Having access to premade faun weapon assets helps in that department.

Individually the models are striking enough in their own right to be played in skirmish games, and would fit well at the 10 model count.

Designed the way they are, we also have great potential to make them into centaurs, if we use the right body attachment.

Thank you, ill keep everyone posted. If you look up faun kickstarter on google, under rgdgaming, we've been posting updates as we go along. Need to see if Black Box (Cards Against Humanity Subcompany) fulfillment would be on board to help us with international fulfillment. The UK pricing on international shipping is way cheaper than the US.

Armour wise there shouldn't be any really on the lower body though the upper torso could be well served with a boiled leather look. Scale will have the effect of making the armour look a lot heavier than it actually would be, though the hindquarters half scale with upper torso scale would look pretty damn good when combined with a Falx.

When I think armor on the horse, im thinking the type that sits over the main body, flanking both sides in a type of croupier or slight barding. A lighter version of what you might find in a cataphract.

My preference for these types of woodland/wilderness creatures is for a rustic, low-tech appearance. Go with leather and other natural materials to keep the primitive look. Similarly keep them lightly armored. Depending on how many body and/or head variants you have on a sprue, one or two could have looted metal armor or helmets. (Warlord Game Celts have some of them in plundered Roman gear.) Historically, chieftains usually claimed the best gear their society had access to, so a better equipped faun or centaur could be used as a character model.

I would vote for the no armor option. Just a simple horse body, maybe a few leather straps for visual interest.

I wouldn't mind some leather armour and weapon scabbards on the horse part, would make them unique.
