Imperial Recruit in Training

As he was taken to the armory to select the weapon with which he would serve the Emperor, he remembered the wise words of his training master: "In case of emergency, promethium canisters double as micro airstrikes." He vowed to remember these wise words as he selected a Flamer from the weapon rack, and marched out to join his new squad.
Spoiler:
G'day everyone! I plan to play an imperial guard army heavily focused on specialty vehicles and troops such as Hellhound/Devildog Chimera's and lots of fire support units to support the obligatory Sovi- I mean, Imperial mass infantry swarm. I'm not sure which regiment it will be, since I still need to buy the models, but I'll figure that out at some point. Probably Krieg or Cadian regiment. Naturally I will try to avoid long range engagements, but I'll possibly add some LRBT's and additional heavy guns, to replace a fielded unit as necessary if I'm forced into a long range engagement. Organized as a Infantry Regiment for now, soon to be a Heavy Infantry or Mechanized Regiment, as soon as I can get carapace armour and the necessary transports. The general idea is a to have 1/4 of the army be stationary or slow moving long range support weaponry, 1/4 to be units that I'll swap out depending on the engagement (more artillery/tanks if it's an open field, more infantry if I have a wide area to defend, or more flame weapons if it's a lot of close range stuff) and the rest be Hellhounds, Devil Dogs, and my elite units. Mix in some air support and a sweeping gunline behind the transports, perhaps. To be modified upon further research.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
