So Halloween has come and gone, time to run to the store and stock up on cheap candy!
What's your favorite candy? It can be a candy bar, peanut butter cups, whatever.. as long as it comes in a wrapper or box!
Mine would have to be Milky Way bars. I love anything with chocolate and caramel, but I always go for the milky ways first. How about you?

Yep, delicious gooey caramel on top of a log of nougat snuggly wrapped in milk chocolate. I never knew they were different anywhere else. Interesting.

A Milky Way without caramel is a Three Musketeers bar.
Anyway, hard to say what my favorite candy is. I'm a sucker for just about anything with peanut butter in it. But I guess I'll go with jelly beans as my favorite for the moment. So many flavors.

In the UK, Three Musketeers is called Milky Way. A US Milky May is called Mars.
My favorite is UK-produced Dairy Milk.

The humble Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.
My college roommate one year was allergic to peanuts. He said that, without fail, everyone who found out about his allergy asked, "So you've never had a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup???" He wanted to know if they were really that good. "No," I lied.

If we're talking just Halloween candy, it's gotta be those bite size chocolate bars. Twix, Kit Kat, Mars, I'm not fussy.
For the wider world of candy, my favorite is a good quality milk chocolate fruit and nut bar. Delicious.

The kids around here haven't got as far as trick or treating and the only people who celebrate are the Druids. They have cake, mead and whiskey which beats kids sweets hands down. If I had to choose a sweet it would be the humble sherbet lemon or a marzipan ball.

Not the chewy kind, they're nice and all, but something about the texture of them is off-putting for me. Or the mini kind, they also have a different flavor and texture as well.
Just the originals for me, please!

Almond Joys a/o Mounds bars. I generally prefer dark chocolate, but the almonds are good.
I also like chocolate caramels, but generally at a higher quality then you find trick or treating. I’ll still take rolos though.

I like a good dark chocolate. Darker the better. There's a kind I found a few months ago that has sea salt in it that gives it a little bit of a crunch that's probably the current favorite.
Otherwise, I don't eat a whole bunch of candy usually. I have a bag of horehound flavored hard candies my girlfriend got me that I'll occasionally dig into, and she has some ginger candies that have some real bite behind them that are tasty. It's total old man candy, but hey, it's good.

I really like sour candy. I also love Mars bars. But what I love most is chocolate, especially when it is filled with fruit jam, jelly or cream.
Here in the Netherlands people eat a lot of black liquorice candy. They call it 'drop' and it is totally disgusting. Dutch people think it is hilarious when I try to eat it. Apparently everyone in the Netherlands loves it. I just can't figure out why you'd eat something salty as candy.

I like what we call black licorice sometimes, but it's not something I'd call salty. Usually a tiny bit sweet with a strong anise flavor to it. I wonder if it's the same stuff.

Har har, the Dutch just haven't salted it enough! Try some Finnish "salmiakki" candy sometime and you'll be happy for the watered-down stuff the Dutch call salty. Probably something to do with the whole national "dark brooding unhappy silent people" stereotype we have going. Candy that tastes good would be unpatriotic! ;-)
As for me it depends. I actually do enjoy some of that strongly salted liquorice now and then, but my favorite is still chocolate - not as dark as possible but hopefully something like 50% or so.

The Milky Way Dark is great too. I usually don't go for dark chocolate though, it's too bitter for me. Whenever I used to get those little hershey special darks in my halloween candy they would be the first thing I would trade away. But I don't mind it on the milky way. I also like the milky way just caramels too. I think I just prefer the softer caramel, don't really like the tough chewy kind.
