SO! Here we are again, making fun stuff in this crazy universe that is 40k.

In case you are new to our podcast, check it out on our website here: https://www.partialarc.com/roll-to-seize/ or look for us on iTunes!

We are in a new edition of 40k!!! 8th edition has arrived, and it is AWESOME!

Here is the basic "jist" of what we are looking for:

-this thread is a game essentially, so most importantly keep it civil and have fun!
-there are 2 steps to this, first is to build a good list of all of the (widely considered) underused/ unusable/ terrible/ underrated/ fluffy units in the game, in each army. The next step is to see if we can make a themed list around them that may actually make them work... or at least make them silly and amusing, and possibly turn some heads. In the case of the new edition, where essentially much of everything is new, or usable (at least a little), you now have the run of the mill! EVERYTHING IS UP FOR GRABS

And thats it! So please feel free to add to the pot, cause I only know sooo many armies...I need your help! As well, feel free to discuss the validity of any of the units mentioned here!

It is important to note that in the case of themed armies, lets make them usable/ winable, but not sacrifice the flavor of the army. I will also try to avoid the "shoe-in" units that any competitive army would take, we don't want to overshadow our theme with commonly used builds.

Oh and per request, the points we are shooting for is 2000

I just want to say I've recently found your podcast, and I love it! I've finally got up to the 30s now and I love the Dark Heresy role play and the Arena episodes.

As far as your rules... I'm not sure about creating an army. If like to see something with Whirlwinds, but not sure how to go about it .

Thanks so much!!

As far as the rules, its quite simple: Do as you have already done, suggest a unit or army style that you would like to see, and we will make a list and feature it in the episode. If whirlwinds is your suggestion, we certainly have some ideas...

I would really like to hear Kevin Kevinson back in his own body again. I understand the roll of the dice, but I feel we didn't get to know him well enough before his mishap.

I am new to the podcast, only up to episode 13. But i am loving it. Its very motivational getting me back into the hobby. In regards to a unit, i agree with valhalla130 whirlwinds would be interesting.

You're in luck because episode 41 had their Whirlwind list!

I'll reiterate an earlier request for a shadow spectres episode. After their price increase in Chapter Approved, every eldar player I speak with seems to agree that they aren't worth their points, that it's weird you can't deepstrike them, and that the exarch's upgrade options are a trap. BUT, I've actually had some success with them as a mobile heavy flamer unit.

Maybe do a freakshow list episode where you utilize spectres and Irrilyth in tandem with various drukhari and harlequin rules to take advantage of their morale debuff rule? I find the idea of dropping enemy Ld by a few points, killing one or two guys, and then forcing them to roll 2d6 take the highest for morale an amusing one.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Thanks so much! Glad we could help you get back in! With the new edition, we will likely hearken back to some old ideas and breathe some new life into them, stay tuned...

I would very much like a list where you utilize Agressors.

Perhaps Boltorm gauntlet aggressors with Imperial Fist strategems.

Oh, I'm satisfied. Especially since I'm building a Deathwatch army.

I'm not going quite as crazy as your list. But in my Primaris squad, I do plan to have at least one Aggressor.

If your squads are geared out for it, you well should, because the aggressor bonuses are just too good for assault/heavy weapon squads

I'm jjlust going all hodgepodge. One reiver, one bolt storm aggressor, an inceptor with the twin plasma exterminators, two hellblasters and a sergeant and four intercessors (primaris tacticals.)

I know its a lot of different things, but it gives me options, has a lot of plasma and should be fairly tough.

Then I have a close combat vet squad and a long range vet squad with lots of frag cannons and storm bolters.

I've been downloading Wrath and Story, and just started listening to them...

Guybrush Threepwood, Dread Pirate LeChuck? Really? As if we wouldn't recognize those names.

Also, how are you guys liking the Wrath and Glory system?

The most competive list you guys can make versus the most competitive Militarum Tempestus list you can make. (This means you can only use units with the Militarum Tempestus keyword and the units available in the Advisors and Auxillia list from the IG codex.)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So no Leman Russes, Basilisks, etc.

Hmmm, that's an interesting one. Tempestus are my favorite form of guard, though I prefer the old acronym of STORM TROOPERS. Consider the challenge ACCEPTED

Maybe something about using Grey Knight termintors?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.
