I've got an old 40k juggerlord. I wanted to do some work on it to make it look nicer. What would be a decent model to use for the lord himself? I've seen this conversion online and I'd like to mimic it somewhat I think.

I remember that one. A large portion of the Juggernaut itself was re-sculpted to accommodate the new pose. The base of the lord model is half Archaon (the old one on the horse) and an obliterator's legs. The Axe arm is from Grimgor Ironhide while the other one is a power fist.

For modern-day equivallents, I would suggest seeing if you can get the chaos lord from the Chariot set to use as a base and go from there.

I did some scouring online. I've seen people mention using the DV chosen as a top half and a biker bottom or a skullcrusher rider bottom.

I'm thinking the PF with combi-plasma or melta as a final weapon set. Thoughts?

Here's the start of the Lord. The DV aspiring champion happens to have a good pose naturally, along with the backpack with the Combi melta. I gave him a power fist from the Raptor champion bitz.. I've got the Juggernaut in the works too.

So I went bits diving at my flgs and i found a whole bloodcrusher with knight. Rather than slice up the dude for his legs I changed to using the plastic Juggernaut to make the whole thing plastic. I'm gonna finish the metal one with a different dude. Here's the progress. I need to do some more green stuff work around the hip area and add the chain to the non power fist hand to the collar. A few things here and there and it'll be paint ready.

I used some old necklace chain I had laying around. Also added a couple bits of the knight on the waist line, chain, tassle.

Looking very impressive!

I'm gonna use a dreadnaught base. I pooled blood in the crevasses for an extra Khorney look.

I figured I'd post my progress on the old school Juggernaut.
