I'd like to convert some Cataphractii Terminators (plastic, not forgeworld) into blightlord terminator stand-ins for a pre-heresy deathguard army that uses the new death guard codex. These are all armed with blight axes. The only problem is, with the exception of the captain's power sword arm, there are no options for left arms that don't have chainfists or lightning claws attached to them (too bulky to just cut off the hand bit).

I know Forgeworld has the upgrade kits for power axes and power mauls, but I'd rather not buy Forgeworld for this project so please don't suggest those.

Any suggestions for how I can convert the left arms to be holding power weapons instead of chainfists?

The forgeworld option is basically it. It’s not that expensive. You could source the bits from the real kits too, and try to make them fit as well. Check out eBay. Otherwise you can sculpt it yourself.

All that said, the Blightlord kit is a really nice kit. I wouldn’t cheap out on it and try conversions. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth the real deal.
