How do DG deal with the new nids - lots of -x to hit them and a LOT of genestealers? Do NOT want a tailored list, I want to build all comers _
Basically with Death Guard, CSM, Chaos Daemons, and Renegades and Heretics Armies i need to beat a Mortarion list, a genestealer spam list, a tyranid MC spam list, and everwhat else...
...1500, 2 detachments

Nurglings. They will nibble genestealers to death, or at least delay them a few turns.

How do you effectively bring Mortarion at 1500 points?

nurglings,

3 or 5 to a unit?

I have a deredeo and decimator, it just scares me to only bring a couple of pieces of armor.

Again, how at 1500? And still score and not get D weaponed out of the tourney by eldar...

COLD CASH wrote:
triple foetid drones.

This is solid here.

COLD CASH wrote:

How does a heldrake get a double bale flamer?

COLD CASH wrote:

Cant get the model. :( I have one...

Don't have these, although I really like triple russ.

Daemon Prince with talons and plate
3 x Bloat-drones
3 x 5 nurglings

A herald and 3 x 5 nurglings for a patrol detachment is 370
Flying prince is 180
3 flamer bloat-drones are 474
1024 points. Now I have to use Chaos Daemons and Death Guard exclusively.

How do I fill out a battalion detachment of death guard and make it competitive?
Need fast troops. Haha - yea.

Death guard are not known for speed, but have you looked at beasts of nurgle / chaos spawn?

A spawn is 33pts , a beast is 38.

Spawns will give you a lot of wounds and a tough close combat unit for a small price, 5 of them are only 165 pts. They are not the fastest but at 7" they can move.

Going beast you lose an inch of movement and not quite as hard hitting for a 6+/5++/5+++ unit with a lot of wounds that is hard to shift, again 5 are only 190 pts.

Either option would do some serious damage to heavier units, elite units, or even base units.

Nurgle beasts will get on average around 20 attacks in close combat, rerolling failed to wounds, doing 2 damage on each success. That's not bad for 190 pts

Chaos spawn will get around the same amount, but can turn their ap-2 into ap-4 or +2 attacks or reroll failed wounds depending on how you roll, all options are sweet. And for 165 points, we'll that's a sweet squad.

Against tyrnaids I have used both, the chaos spawns do really well to the point my opponent started targeting them first (works for me, let my deamon prince get a free pass).

Personally I think the beast of nurgle are worth the extra cost.

Alternatively never underestimate the power of the lowly rhino with dual combi bolters (or combi bolter / combi flamer). It's fast enough to get in range, cheap enough to be easily added into a list, and can not only be used for dealing with hordes (8 shots at 12"? Yes please) but tough enough to soak up overwatch shots if you want to use it to slow something down or to help make sure you get a charge in on something with scary guns.

Again I like to take 3 squads of Marines, 5 man, and put them into 3 rhinos with combi bolters. Granted it's normal chaos and not death guard but Plauge marines should be able to do that just as easily. Too bad you can not put pox walkers in a rhino, that would be funny. "Special delivery!" Lol

Same they deal with anyone. 40 super-infiltrating Alpha Legion cultists that become Poxwalkers when they die, and then your 100 something T5 Poxwalkers kill everything, and when the unit grows, it grows in a conga line and magically ties everything in close combat with them without actually charging anything. One of the most abusive lists in the game when they get the first turn.

That is what i am trying to get going. Deathguard brigade, csm battalion, daemon patrol. 2 x 5 nurglings, a big plaguebearer squad with a herald, a huge infiltrating cultist squad, a huge screening cultist squad, a quantity of 10 man cultist squads, Typhus, Necrosius, Talleyman, Sorcerer support.

Just don't know how to get there from here @ 2000.

Yes you can. And cultists too. Rhino says it can transport 10 Death Guard Infantry models, excluding Terminators. Cultists, Marines, Pox Walkers... they all have keywords "Death Guard" and "Infantry", so you totally can pack them up with smaller critters than your marines.

#ConvertEverything blog with loyalist Death Guard in true and Epic scales. Also Titans and killer robots! C&C welcome.

I don't know anything about Death Guard, but the "meta" is moving towards fast "rush" armies, so a "screen" and or a "bubble wrap is a good idea in general, and mighty useful vs Nids in paticular.

A cheap screen and a Renegade Punisher Gatling Cannon LR shreds Genestealers like not even close put some flamers on it and it will have them rethinking life choices. Heavy 20x(2 with grinding advance) S5 shots shooting at T4 units that have an invulnerable save. I'd also take Morty and that sick pistol he has that deals damage in a straight line of GS. Once your shooting phase is done charge his Flying Hive Tyrant and KO it in the fight phase. From there move your Punisher into his line of termagants and shred them.
