Subject: World's First Giant Robot Tournament! Kickstarter
It will be interesting to see what happens here, their first battle with Japan did not go over particularly well but they have posted some videos afterwards where they are attempting to alter the format a bit to make it less fake and edited than the Japan fight seemed like. The ultimate goal is to fill a stadium and have a live fight for a large audience, which I think is a good one. The sport is still in really early days and I truly hope it eventually turns into something big and interesting so I backed for some tickets for my family and I to attend. More than a bit leery of the OCt 2018 date for the first event, that seems overly ambitious to me considering the work I still think they need to do. Like hydraulic isolation on their mechs for one because right now the first time a line gets cut it's seconds until the mech stops working due to pumping out all of its fluid.
